This central village cottage is perfect for couples and small families wanting to stay in a Grade II-listed traditional Peak District cottage. There is a popular pub and a variety of shops a short walk away.

The village of Bradwell is set within the rolling hills of the Peak District National Park. Enjoy exploring the variety of public footpaths that pass through the village, or enjoy the array of amenities on offer, including popular local pubs and shops. The villages of Hathersage (4 miles) and Hope (2 miles) offer further local amenities, including Hope railway station which makes this cottage easily accessible by both rail and road. Guests can explore the Blue John Mines and caves at nearby Castleton (3 miles) or take a hike up the famous Mam Tor. The spa town of Buxton, the market town of Bakewell, and the stunning Chatsworth House and Gardens are all within 10 miles.

Step into the hallway with space to hang your coats and store your shoes. There is a ground-floor twin bedroom and a handy shower room with WC, and a nearby washing machine. Head up to the first floor where you will be welcomed into the spacious open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. This impressive room offers a high ceiling and large windows which let the light flood in. The staircase is open so care must be taken at all times. The kitchen area offers an electric oven and gas hob, fridge, freezer, and microwave. There is a nearby dining table to enjoy a special meal, and plenty of comfy seating to come back and relax on in front of the roaring wood burner and Smart TV. There is a bright and airy double bedroom that offers pretty views over the village and an adjacent bathroom with a shower over a bath, sink, and WC.

A short walk away across the courtyard, situated next to the owner’s home is a spacious garden where a section has been reserved for holiday guests staying at this cottage. This is a great place to sit and enjoy the summer sun and a glass of something chilled, whilst overlooking the surrounding mature trees and countryside. There is off-road parking for one car.

I would highly recommend this lovely cottage. It was spotlessly clean, warm, comfortable and well equipped. The location is excellent. There is a good pub, serving excellent food, across the road, and two shops and a very good bakery within a few minutes walk. There are buses to Sheffield and Castleton and other villages if you want to leave the caRead morer at home. Other reviews mentioned noise from the church bells and traffic, but we didn't experience any problems. We would definitely return. Hide

The cottage is very lovely! It has everything you could wish for, and Katrina and Tim are lovely hosts. The back garden is beautiful. Bradwell itself is a gem. A proper village, not as touristy as some villages close by but just as picturesque. We would definitely come back.

Absolutely perfect. More than we needed in terms of space / layout. Everything any family / couple would need for a comfortable stay. Truly dog friendly. Superb showers / bath. Great location for local shops and access to walking routes. 10/10.

The cottage was excellent just what we needed with two teenage daughters. The facilities were good and plenty of cooking equipment with complimentary tea/coffee and biscuits. Good pub over the road and a good location to explore the Peaks.

Good value. Nicely furnished little place in quaint picturesque little village. All expected amenities provided. The two single beds are not really suitable for adults. The only real issue with the place is the noise - It only has single glazed sash windows and is adjacent to the main road and a church which "bongs" it's bells every 15 minutes (froRead morem 7am-11pm I think). Therefore light sleepers are unlikely to manage an early night or late morning without disturbance from one or the other. Hide

This cottage is beautiful, kept to a high standard and has everything you would need. Lovely little touches like plugs with USB sockets, guide to the area and tea/coffee and milk on arrival. The garden is huge and beautiful, we took long leads for our dogs to explore, the drainage tunnel was mostly dry during our stay so was not a worry. Bradwell is a great base for a holiday and the cottage is a great base in Bradwell. We were very comfortable there and the EV charger was a real benefit. The only negative thing worth noting is the traffic noise from the very busy road
