Set in a rural location on the banks of the River Wye with established apple orchards, this traditional red-brick barn conversion is a perfect base for couples to explore Herefordshire.

The cottage enjoys a great location on the fringes of the picturesque village of Preston-on-Wye. It is set within an established campsite from which you can access the River Wye where you can hire a canoe, enjoy coarse fishing with a day permit, or simply enjoy the wildlife along the Wye Valley Way. For more challenging terrain, join the Offa’s Dyke Path on the Hatterall Ridge (17 miles), or tackle Hay Bluff and the Black Mountains (16 miles). Golfers can head for the nine holes at the Brampton golf course (5 miles). A trip to the vibrant market town of Hay-on-Wye (12 miles) is a must, where you can pick up local produce from a farmers’ market, browse the independent shops or relax and enjoy a director's choice movie at Booth’s Cinema.

This converted barn enjoys a great location where guests can take full advantage of the River Wye, the small on-site farm shop and campsite rustic bar. Step inside the accommodation into an open-plan living area which offers everything you will need during your stay. Feel right at home in the cosy lounge area with a two-seater sofa and Smart TV, a dining table and chairs along with a well-equipped kitchen with an electric oven, gas hob, and fridge with ice compartment. There is a bathroom with a handheld shower and a WC. A small spiral staircase offers access to a double bedroom where you can enjoy countryside views.

Outside, guests can enjoy an open area with table and chairs. Guests can also access the campsite facilities, which includes a farm shop, rustic bar and canoe hire. There is parking for one car and secure bike storage.

Fantastic place to stay and extremely helpful and friendly hosts. The outhouse is perfect for a relaxing stay to unwind in a comfortable and peaceful environment. There's a local pub not far along the road that we managed to find by crossing over a few fields but not easy at this time of year as some of the grass has not been cut. A comfortable cottage although the bed is close to the ceiling and the spiral staircase is quite narrow.

The Outhouse is a beautiful little place to stay; a home from home. It's well-equipped, comfortable and cosy! We enjoyed being tucked away down single track lanes, surrounded by nature and farmland, and had a very peaceful stay. Lovely little cottage. Beautifully decorated and furnished throughout. Loved the spiral staircase and big bath. Fabulous location with walks and pub nearby. Nice to wake up with the sun beaming through the bedroom window and gazing out across the huge, green field.

This place was wonderful. There were 2 of us plus our German Shepherd and there was ample room and during the hot weather the stone flooring was ideal for our fluffy GSD as it was cold. Air conditioning upstairs in the bedroom was great, but the best part was just the location. Middle of nowhere, with a river nearby. Most relaxed we have been in a Read morelong time. We didnt need to leave the premises aside from a little bit of food shopping due to the size of the land, it was fantastic. Will be back! Hide
