Nice little cottage very well equipped for its type, everything works! Friendly and approachable owners are very local which is handy as it's a fair distance from any amenities. If you want rural quiet with walking and take your dog it's perfect.

Merse Cottage is a lovely, comfortable cottage, very clean and functionally equipped. You absolutely need a car to stay there, but we had one and used our cottage as a base for our trips into Scotland and England: Edinburgh, Glasgow, Rosslyn Chapel, Melrose Abbey, Holy Island, Alnwick Castle, many other castles and splendid beaches are mostly a oneRead more hour (or less) drive away. The landlady Helen is very nice and gave us a lot of helpful tips for what to do and see or where to do your groceries. Hide

I chose this cottage because we like peace and quiet and it was only a 40min drive away from all the homes and castles we wanted to see.

Fantastic cottage, spotlessly clean, well equiped and very cosy. Need to be stocked up with supplies as shops/supermarkets are a bit out of the way. But a really good base for exploring the Scottish Borders.

The cottage was spacious and comfortable, and Helen very friendly and welcoming. We very much appreciated the shortbread on arrival. Garden area secure for dog. Handy for coast and also for inland walks.
