Nestled in the quaint fishing village of Staithes is this cosy cottage, rich in history and just a few steps from the beach - ideal for families.

Staithes is a pretty, traditional fishing village with bundles of charm located 10 miles north of Whitby and offers an idyllic location for a seaside escape. The village boasts some of the narrowest cobbled streets in the north and has a network of ginnels, nooks, and winding streets. There is plenty to see and do with pubs, cafes, shops, art galleries, and a fish smokehouse. The village hosts real ale and jazz festivals during the year and attracts many visitors. For those wishing to take to the water, there are regular boat trips to Whitby from Staithes, or try your hand at crabbing off the quay. There are also many walks around the area along the Cleveland Way clifftops and over to Whitby. A wonderful location for a holiday with family or friends.

Step into this cosy and charming three storey cottage just metres away from the beach. You will be find a traditional style cottage interior with wooden floors, a beamed ceiling, and a working original fireplace. Sit on the comfortable sofa and unwind whilst watching a film on the Smart TV. Dine around the table at mealtimes before heading out for the day. Take the stone twist steps down to find the contemporary kitchen complete with a breakfast bar. The kitchen is fully equipped to cook up a storm, with electric oven and hob, fridge, dishwasher, microwave and washing machine. From the lounge, venture up the stairs, on the first floor is a spacious double room, a single room, and a bathroom with a bath/shower over and WC. Open the landing door to find another set of steps (mind your head on the way up!) and you'll discover a triple room - excellent for children.

A parking permit is provided for one car at the public car park (Bank Top) at the top of the village (within 500 metres) with additional pay and display parking (long stay available). Please note that this property is not suitable for the less mobile due to the steep incline in and out of the village and some steep stairs and low ceilings in the property.

We stayed at the Curious Crab over the New Year.. we walked into the cottage and I was immediately struck by the gorgeous, original range in the living room, absolutely stunning. The living room was comfortable and cosy, the kitchen is fully equipped and the bedrooms are lovely. All the beds are comfy and the bonus was the huge bath towels suppliedRead more. The cottage is a stones throw from the beach and the Cod & Lobster. I would definitely recommend for your next stay in Staithes. Hide

The whole village is beautiful, but cannot be seen from the cottage itself. If you have any difficulty breathing this cottage is not for you, as you have to go up two flights of stairs if you are in the kitchen and need the bathroom, with the breakfast bar being the easiest place to eat having cooked due to the steep concrete stairs back up to the Read morelounge and dining table. The whole area of the coast is wonderful from Ravens Car to Redcar, especially Whitby, Sandsend and Saltburn-By-The-Sea. Hide

We enjoyed our stay.Good location, cottage was clean, living area was a bit tired looking. Stairs down to kitchen are quirky but wouldnt suit someone with mobility issues. The welcome pack is a nice touch.
