Many local fells are accessible or take a stroll down to the lake shores of Derwentwater (0.5 miles) to catch the launch from Keswick across the lake and conquer the stunning Catbells, popular with walkers of all ages and abilities. For something more challenging, Skiddaw (5 miles) is a slightly longer, higher walk and, at over 3,000 feet, on a clear day you can see far and wide. Keswick has an abundance of shops, including small independent traders, galleries, and of course tea rooms. The Theatre By The Lake has many well-known productions too (0.5 miles).
