Escape the hustle and bustle with good company at this hidden holiday home situated down a quiet lane on the edge of the Peak District National Park and surrounded by mature gardens and wildlife, not forgetting the owner's friendly goats and ducks. The area is a paradise for walkers and cyclists alike with easy access to Manifold Valley, Dovedale and beyond. A great traditional local pub is just half a mile walk and is the perfect place to recharge after a day hiking the hills. Ashbourne, Leek and Hartington are within a 9.5-mile radius and offer a large selection of eateries, cafes, and independent shops to explore. For those seeking thrills, Alton Towers is only 7.5 miles away offering a fun-packed day out. The wonderful family-friendly Peak Wildlife Park is within 2 miles and the Churnet Valley Railway – a steam train through spectacular scenery is within 7 miles.

Step inside and wander through to the beautiful open-plan kitchen/diner with an original stone archway framing a floor-to-ceiling window with pretty views over the garden and a spacious lobby with plenty of storage/boot rack. The kitchen is well equipped and offers everything you need to rustle up a meal during your stay. Take time to enjoy lazy breakfasts around the dining table planning the day's activities. Put your feet up in the cosy lounge after a day hiking the hills, light the wood burner during the chillier months and relax in front of the Smart TV. Really lovely stay. Accommodation was spotless, well furnished, very cosy, beautiful view from the kitchen. Had everything we needed - EV charger, all the kitchen equipment you would need, comfy sofa, blanket, helpful walking guide books set in a beautiful, peaceful location. Hosts were great. Thank you.

The property was wonderful from the start, setting up the visit and arrival. Cakes and flowers on arrival was a lovely touch that went down very well! An amazing cottage. It was an ideal place to spend our week holiday. From the welcome flowers, muffins, duck eggs, milk etc. Maintained to a very high standard and very comfortable. We cannot recommend this cottage highly enough. The lovely hosts made us feel extremely welcome.

Lovely accommodation in a rural location off the Ashbourne to Leek Road, so a good base for exploring. The cottage was beautiful, very clean and well equipped. We especially appreciated the milk and buns. The setting was gorgeous, very calm and the local pub was a short walk away when we didn't want to cook.

A lovely location for a break away. The accommodation was well equipped and the cakes were lovely. Only down side for us was that as the owners live directly above, you can hear movement at all times of the night which did wake us quite a few times

This was a really lovely cottage in a beautiful location. Fully equipped plus lots of nice extras such as fresh flowers, home made cakes and a few provisions in the fridge on arrival (including duck eggs from their lovely ducks which wandered around outside). This Cottage was an amazing getaway! Thankyou so much to the hosts everything was really great from the fully stocked log burner to the amazing superking sized bed which was incredibly comfy. This cottage is cosy, comfy and in a beautiful location. The super- kingsize bed is the most comfortable we have experienced away from home. Everything is provided for a relaxing stay and the hosts are friendly and helpful, but not intrusive. We heartily recommend Brook Cottage.

We had a lovely time in the cottage and our little pup loved running around the garden and saying hello to the goats each day. We cooked every night of our stay and the facilities were great. We had a great few days at this lovely comfortable and cozy cottage. It is very well equipped, we prepared most of our meals there. The log burner was wonderful on the chilly evenings. It is very well located in a scenic and peaceful valley with places like Dovedale and Ilam Hall nearby. We did two lovely walks from the cottage as well.

Beautiful location. Quiet and peaceful. Hosts were very friendly but not at all intrusive. They were next door if we needed anything, but we didnt as the cottage had everything you might need for a week away. A nice surprise were the freshly baked cakes in the kitchen on arrival. Denise has made Brook cottage a wonderful place to stay, very comfortable and lovely furnishings with nice little touches throughout. Exceptionally clean and plenty of space inside and out. The kitchen is very well equipped should you choose to cook. Very relaxing time and Denise left us some delicious homemade muffins

This was our first visit to The Peak District and we loved every minute exploring. Brook Cottage was so idyllic. It had the perfect mix of cosy country cottage with all the mod-cons from home. Beautiful modern cottage, so peaceful with a little Brook running at bottom of garden, seating underneath trees with a fire, perfect for sitting with a good book. Amazing high spec cottage absolutely everything has been thought of and provided for with Pygmy goats and ducks for neighbours and the use of a fire pit down by a brook. With scenic walks in close proximity and a wood burning stove to curl up in front of with a good book and a glass of wine in the evenings .

Brook cottage was a lovely break away!! Peaceful location and beautifull surroundings. The cottage itself is cosy and finished to high standards. Was relaxing to sit out on the private patio overlooking the owners goats and sheep. Owners are welcoming and helpfull and the cakes on arrival were very tasty.
