The bustling market towns of Annan and Lockerbie (within 6 miles) and Dumfries (14 miles) have an excellent range of shopping and leisure facilities. The cottage is close to the stunning Solway Firth (8 miles), boasting 200 miles of spectacular rugged coastline, and mountain bikers can head off to the nearby 7stanes. As you enter the cottage, you will find a useful porch with attractive wooden panelled walls and an old church pew. The kitchen wraps around through to the lounge; there is access out onto the patio from the lounge and kitchen. The lounge is furnished to a high standard with beautiful curtains and antique furniture, and although it has lots of original features it also has a contemporary feel. Kick back and relax on the comfortable seating, watch a movie on the Smart TV or curl up with a book in front of the fire. The stairs to the first floor lead off the kitchen. On the first floor you will find the bathroom and a pretty twin room with zip-and-link beds next door. Nice and cosy cottage with a lovely wood burner for the colder evenings. Plenty of room for five adults and a dog. Good sized private garden which I imagine would be lovely in the warmer months. Good base to travel to lots of different places all within 20 minutes drive including Porridge Museum and Annandale Distillery which were both worth a visiRead moret on a rainy day. Hide

This is a really nice and spacious cottage. The quietness is also nice, we slept very well and enjoyed our stay. The dogs had a seperate sleeping room. The living room was very cosy. We tasted a few apples from the garden.
