Located in this friendly conservation village just 1.1 miles from beautifully sheltered Coldingham Bay. Bring your surf boards, go snorkelling, try rock pooling, and watch the array of birdlife. Take a picnic or have lunch in the beach café. There is a network of coastal paths to explore as part of the area’s vast National Nature Reserve with wonderful views of the rugged coastline and nesting seabirds from the cliff tops. Explore the pretty harbour, fishing boats and sea food eateries in nearby St. Abbs (1.3 miles) and browse the village shops, galleries, pubs and restaurants and the local arts and crafts at the weekly market. Visit Eyemouth’s bustling fishing harbour and town for great fish and chip shops, pubs, restaurants, the sandy beach and panoramic views whilst playing golf. Explore historic Berwick, Bamburgh Castle, and Holy Island in neighbouring Northumberland.

Four stone steps lead up from street level to the front doorstep of this welcoming holiday property. From the hallway, there is a utility/boot room with a washing machine and an electric clothes airer so you can dry outdoor clothing and store walking boots. The spacious, country cottage-style kitchen/diner provides an inviting place for everyone to gather and make lovely holiday memories. There is a dual-sided fireplace with a wood burner warming both this space and the snug lounge. In the quiet reading room there is an additional hobbit stove . Sit on a bar stool at the kitchen island with your favourite drink and chat with the family cook before dinner. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to make your meals and the large dining table is perfect for sitting down together. There is even a piano for an after-dinner sing-along. Head through to the snug lounge to relax on comfortable seating and watch TV or enjoy a quiet read. At the far end of the hallway, a step down leads into the ground-floor bedroom with a super-king-size bed and plenty of storage space. The en-suite has a shower and WC. The family bathroom has a walk-in shower and WC. Heading upstairs, you will find an additional WC and two further bedrooms each with a vaulted ceiling and plenty of storage for your things. The super king double bedroom & king bedroom both have dual aspect windows and the third bedroom has a twin that has views down the village and over the priory due to the properties raised position.

Outside to the rear, there is a patio area with garden furniture and six stone steps to the lawn with further seating. A side gate leads to the front of the house where there is a bench seat, perfect for putting on walking boots.

Ardar is a really wonderful property. Beautifully restored and furnished to a high standard. The two log burners ensured we were kept cosy and safe during a stormy week of weather. The small reading room with the pygmy stove is a superb quiet space and many a happy hour was spent there. The kitchen is fabulous and very well equipped. The house is both beautifully furnished and very well equipped. It has a wonderful blend of new and old with the carefully thought out decor . The Wee Hoose was perfect, clean and comfortable and the owner had thought of every last detail of what you need on a holiday in the house. A lot of hard work has gone into this house which you can see and makes an excellent place to rest your weary head or just have a chill out time.

A lovely house, well equipped equipped in an excellent location, we ere reluctant to leave in the end. The decor has been done with love and as soon as we entered the property we felt at home. This is a beautiful property, finished to an extremely high standard. Very spacious, extremely comfortable with lovely crisp bedlinen and soft fluffy towels. Great location for exploring the area. It was such a privilege to stay in such a fabulous home, we will definitely return.

We had a beautiful stay at Ardvar (helped by the weather) could not recommend it more - communication was super friendly and clear, the house is absolutely spotless and has everything you need. Being able to sit by the fire and read in the living room or play boardgames round the kitchen table is a delight. What a beautiful property, clean, well equipped and cosy, it felt like a home from home. A fantastic place to spend Christmas with the family, the fires were a treat to cosy up to after a coastal walk, only a steady 20min walk through the historic village and along a footpath avoiding the road to the sandy bay. This property has been restored as a labour of love with lovely touches of homeliness throughout. Spacious and cosy with character. We were surprised that this cottage doesn't have a five star rating as we've stayed in other poorer properties that have been rated as such. We were made to feel very welcome and appreciated the hamper of goodies that Read morewas there on our arrival. Lovely local beach within a 20 minute walk and only 12 miles from historic Berwick.
