The cottage enjoys a central location in Amble within easy reach of the marina (0.3 miles) and a cosy pub offering home-cooked food is opposite. Amble is renowned for its seafood restaurants and the fish and chip shops, ice cream parlour and independent retail ‘pods’ are worth a visit. Head to the bustling harbour (0.5 miles) to watch fishing boats land their daily catch. Visit the Little shore next to the pier, it’s a small beach ideal for families. Browse the award-winning High Street’s shops, cafes, pubs, restaurants and a weekly market on Sundays. Stroll along the River Coquet to Warkworth to see the medieval castle, local galleries, shops pubs, and cafes. Visit Warkworth’s sandy beach, perfect for a picnic. Book a boat trip to Coquet Island for the amazing birdlife, and on occasions pods of dolphins. Hauxley Nature Reserve (2 miles) is great for bird watching with several hides and a welcoming café with super views, whilst Druridge Bay Country Park (7 miles) offers 3 miles of sandy beach as well as a 100-acre lake.

Access this gorgeous Victorian mid-terrace cottage from the enclosed garden and you will enter the light and airy sunroom with a comfortable sofa where you can relax with a coffee and watch the birds visiting the garden. A glazed door leads into the contemporary, open-plan kitchen/diner and stylish lounge with a wood burner and an impressive feature stone wall which has concealed mood lighting, adding to the cottage ambiance. The kitchen provides everything you will need and more with peninsula with bar stools so you can sit back in this sociable space with a drink whilst the chef of the group creates a tasty meal. Coffee lovers will love the dedicated barista station where you can practise your latte art. After dinner, light the wood burner and settle into the comfortable seating for a cosy evening watching a movie or your favourite show on a Smart TV with Netflix. Head through to the hallway where there is a practical storage seat and rail for your coats and shoes, and the front door leads to the street access. At the end of the hall there is a shower room, with a shower cubicle and WC. On the first floor there are three bedrooms and a family bathroom. The king-size bedroom has open hanging space and a view towards Warkworth Castle and the sea, there is a spacious twin bedroom and a further twin bedroom with zip-and-link beds which can be made up as a super-king-size on request. The family bathroom has a freestanding slipper-style bath and a large walk in separate shower and WC.

Outside to the rear, there is an enclosed patio garden with garden furniture where you can dine alfresco with a gate leading to the residential parking area.

Such high quality throughout the accommodation, in terms of design, decor, quality of furnishings and fittings, comfort and cleanliness. Location is great, we loved being close to everything we wanted, but despite being on the High Street it was quiet and peaceful, with far reaching views from the rear. We had a lovely stay at Once upon a Tide. The property was just fantastic and there was everything we needed for a lovely relaxing week. This has to be one of the best cottages weve ever stayed at. Quality of kitchen equipment is on a par with what I have at home. Good location close to shops and restaurants, cafes and not too far from a green space to walk the dog. We spent a few days exploring Amble and Walkworth on foot before heading out in the car further afield. Will come backRead more again next year Hide

An absolute gem of a cottage. It was like entering in to the tardis. Beautifully modernised interior, tastefully designed throughout which led to a really comfortable stay. I cannot recommend Once Upon A Tide enough! Linda is an excellent host and has made sure the house has absolutely everything you need even down to face cloths for make up removal. Lindas communication was above and beyond anything Ive experienced elsewhere. Lindas attention to detail and ability to go the extra mile is what makes OUAT so special. Well positioned with an easy walk into the town very close to the restaurants and shops. Harbour is well worth a visit. Fish market with the days catch is a must to see. Well furnished and equipped to a high standard. Loved the local pictures and theme. Leave the car and walk into Warkworth to visit the castle and surrounding area. Great property in which to spend a week enjoying the Northumbrian coast. Parking easy and great access to a bustling little town with amazing fresh seafood a short walk away. Pub literally across the road too. The house is well designed and laid out and has been renovated to a high standard. Highly recommended.

Lovely comfortable well equipped cottage, the owner (Linda) was really welcoming and friendly. The location was ideal for visiting the local bars & restaurants, the harbour area was interesting. We had great weather and visited a number of the local beaches, really beautiful. Would not hesitate to recommend this place.

Stayed here with my husband, friend and dog for a week. The house is lovely, well equipped and furnished to a high standard. It is centrally located with a bus stop right outside the door. The pub across the road has a nice enclosed beer garden at the back which was nice to sit in on the warm nights. This is a very comfortable house; near to local shops, the harbour, and bus stop. The rooms were spotless, and kitchen well equipped. The small courtyard garden is a nice area to catch the evening sun. We enjoyed using Once Upon a Tide as a base for exploring. It,isc worth noting that the car park fills up on a Saturday evening and Sunday morning, Read moredue to being shared with the adjacent church. Fortunately, a kind neighbour warned us of this. It was our first visit to Amble and we had a fabulous week! The Cottage was very comfortable as well as spotlessly clean. The kitchen was well stocked with everything needed. The house is fantastic, it is beautifully decorated, spacious and well equipped. It is in a great location if you are wanting to be near shops, restaurants and pubs. The Wellwood Arms is directly across the road, its a very friendly bar with a decent beer garden. This is a fabulously equipped house with everything you need (and things you haven't even got at home!). Lovely house, couldn't rate it high enough. It was definitely a home from home with everything you need and some lovely touches. Very clean and well equipped. Fantastic location and a lovely walk into Warkworth. Shops and restaurants are on the doorstep and worth a visit too. Would highly recommend and we will be back for a longer stay next time

Lovely cottage, very comfortable beds and high quality furnishings. Location excellent, Amble is a lovely town and an excellent base. Would recommend the Boat House and the local traditional Italian within Amble for food, easy to walk to from the cottage.
