Located directly next to this long, sandy beach is the quiet seaside village of Cresswell. This lovely spot on the Northumberland coast is great for beach walks with the family and dog from the house, picnics in the sand dunes, bird watching at nearby Cresswell Nature Reserve, and you may even see dolphins swimming about off-shore. Visit the ancient Pele tower on its open days for some interesting local history, pop into the ice cream parlour for a treat, and stroll to the beach café (0.3 miles) for lunch. Druridge Bay Country Park (7 miles) has a circular walk around the lake, beautiful woodland, a children’s play park, a visitor centre, and of course, the lovely beach. Drive to Amble’s friendly port (9.2 miles) for the marina, boat trips to Coquet Island's bird sanctuary, shops, pubs, great seafood restaurants, an ice cream parlour, and fish and chips.

A glazed door opens to the covered balcony with two reclining seats, the perfect place to start the day with your morning coffee, fresh air, and fabulous sea views. Outside, walk up the stone steps to the outdoor seating area which overlooks the wide beach, perfect for children and dogs to play on the sand. There is plenty of garden furniture and a BBQ for fun, al fresco dining. For shade and on cooler days, there is a small summer house with seating where you can sit with a book and a drink, admire the sea views, or have a quiet snooze. A gate from the garden leads directly to the beach just metres away so the children can play on the sand while you watch from comfortable seating.
