A haven for walkers, local peaks include Helvellyn, St Sunday Crag and Stony Cove Pike (all within 5 miles). Other local walks include Place Fell (opposite the property). Lake Ullswater is less than a mile to the north, where you can enjoy a trip on one of the steamers. With stops along the way, you can visit the Aira Force Waterfall, Howtown and the bustling lakeside village of Pooley Bridge, where you will find plenty of welcoming pubs and restaurants. From Howtown you can walk back to Glenridding, this was one of Wordsworth's favourite walks and offers views of Ullswater and Helvellyn. Very clean with lots of thought gone into equipping the cottage for visitors, including our four legged friend. The cottage is small as described but nonetheless very comfortable and relaxing. We did spend all our days out walking and dined out in the evening so not a lot of time spent in residence. The area is quiet with immediate access to some lRead moreovely walks. Hide

The cottage was very clean and well equipped. It was comfortable for 3 of us. Nice TV and DVD player. Small garden so if you have a dog take it for a walk. Plenty of walks nearby. Well located for all areas of the Lakes. Parking was easy. Recommended.

This holiday rental is far smaller than the photos suggest. It was tiny and internal doors had to be sliding ones, as there is no room for them to open. No room for the dog crate. It was very clean and had good WiFi. The gated driveway is difficult to access safely due to it being on a sharp bend on the main road through Patterdale. The shower presRead moresure was poor. The sofa and chair are not comfortable at all. Over priced (674 for 3 nights) Hide

The cottage offers privacy, excellent view surrounded by birds and is very well equipped, the landlord supplied the essentials (plus extras!) which mean lesser to worry about, particularly well thought out for people arriving in the evening! An excellent vacation cottage with comforts.
