This remarkable converted corn mill is steeped in local history dating back to 1795 and is simply perfect for those wanting to explore the Herefordshire countryside and the Wye Valley. Well-located with proximity to the M50 and sleeping twelve guests, it offers an incredible space for groups of families and friends to connect surrounded by the countryside. It’s a haven for walkers and cyclists, with riverside walks along the Wye and trails to Symonds Yat Rock, where you can admire the valley view. The Forest of Dean (12.5 miles) is steeped in history with ancient oak woodlands, pine forests, and wildlife, and is popular with outdoor enthusiasts. You are also spoilt for choice with market towns to explore, as both Monmouth (10.5 miles) and Ross-on-Wye (2 miles) are within easy reach. Families can enjoy days out to the enchanted woodlands at Puzzlewood (15 miles) and the Gruffalo Trail at Beechenhurst (12 miles).

Standing proudly within the grounds, the mill is accessed via the front steps into the porch, where you can leave coats and boots. Step into the hallway; the accommodation is spread across three upper floors, along with a basement area. The ground floor hosts a welcoming kitchen/breakfast room and is fully equipped for the chef of the group to rustle up holiday feasts alongside a circular table and chairs where you can enjoy a morning coffee whilst planning your day. For more formal dining, across the hallway, a large dining room awaits with space to accommodate twelve guests, perfect for a celebration supper. From here, double glass doors open into the main lounge area where you can relax together with plenty of comfortable seating, a warming wood burner and a Smart TV. Double doors lead outside onto a garden terrace, which is a great space for the evening sun or a lazy afternoon with a good book. There is also a cloakroom with a WC on this floor. The basement area offers a small utility area that is great for food preparation if you are entertaining in the grounds. The spacious games room offers a large corner sofa, foosball table, Smart TV and a wood burner − a great additional spot to unwind in as well as for teenagers to have their own space. There is a separate shower room with a WC on this floor. The upper two floors are accessed off the main hallway. The first floor offers guests the choice of three generously sized bedrooms, one king-size with en-suite bathroom with shower over the bath and WC, one rear aspect double and one front aspect double. There is a refreshing shower room and WC on this floor. The second floor offers guests the choice of two tastefully designed double bedrooms, one with lake views and both offering a restful night’s sleep. A bathroom with a shower over the bath and a WC complete the internal layout.

Outside, there are multiple seating areas for you to make use of. Relax on the furnished patio, lighting the charcoal BBQ and pizza oven for memorable holiday feasts to enjoy together. After dinner, toast marshmallows on the fire pit as the stars come out. A lovely, well equipped house perfect for a big family reunion. It was beautifully decorated for Christmas which was much appreciated. Ian was very helpful and was at the end of the phone to sort out any problems we encountered.
