Keswick offers a great base to explore the Lakes either on foot, by bike, by car or by bus. The town is surrounded by mountains (Skiddaw and Blencathra) and is located between Derwentwater (3 miles) and Bassenthwaite (8 miles). Many local fells are accessible, enjoy a stroll down to the lake shores of Derwentwater to catch the launch across the lake and conquer the stunning Catbells, popular with walkers of all ages and abilities. For something more challenging, Skiddaw is a slightly longer, higher walk and, at over 3,000 feet, but on a clear day, you can see far and wide. Castlerigg Stone Circle is less than 1 mile away and dates back to the Neolithic era. Visit Theatre by the Lake, take in a show and visit Crow Park which is opposite – you can get a 360-degree view of the mountains along with stunning views down the lake towards the exceptionally beautiful Borrowdale valley. This lovingly restored Victorian property dates to 1884 and offers a fabulous base for extended family or friends looking to explore the Lakes.
The property is stylish, with lots of original features combined with a contemporary finish and design. Entering the property, you will find the impressive and welcoming hallway. Off the hall to the right is the lounge with a bay window, a marble fireplace and a wood burner with comfortable seating to kick back and relax on after a long day walking or cycling. Choose a good book from the bookcase or watch a good film. Across the hallway, you will find the formal dining room where you can enjoy a hearty breakfast and make plans for the days ahead. Off the entrance hall, you will find a spacious en-suite double bedroom. The kitchen is well equipped and there is a handy utility room leading off from the kitchen. The first floor has four spacious en-suite bedrooms with TVs; the rooms are all decorated to the same high standard.
There is a private front garden with seating, and even out of season, you can enjoy a glass of your favourite drink under the covered veranda to the side of the house. It is also a great place to enjoy a coffee on a sunny morning.
