Located in the charming village of Hoghton, there are a number of scenic walks and cycle routes directly from the doorstep and two pubs just over 0.5 miles away. The village is famous for its historic Hoghton Tower (1.5 miles), one of the most haunted homes in Britain, which dates back to the 16th century and boasts stunning views of the surrounding countryside. Spend a day visiting the beautiful Forest of Bowland AONB (12 miles), home to an array of spectacular fells, deep valleys and peat moorland, and for a day at the beach, the Lancashire coast can be reached in under 20 miles.

With beams and vaulted ceilings throughout, this delightful property is bursting with character that creates a real home from home. Step through the front door and into the bright and spacious entrance hall, ideal for leaving coats and muddy boots. Here, you will find the downstairs shower room before you head through into the cosy lounge. Adorned with beams, exposed brickwork and delightful countryside views, it provides the ideal place to relax in an evening in front of the gas fire and cuddle up on one of the sofas to watch a movie with the family. The large open-plan kitchen/diner is the social hub of the home with high vaulted ceilings and double doors that open out to the garden and flood the room with light. Gather around the large farmhouse table and enjoy a feast at the end of the day, cooked in the fully equipped kitchen. Here, you will also find a handy utility room and the comfortable snug, perfect for anyone wanting to settle down and get lost in a good book. The first floor of the home enjoys sloping timber-clad ceilings which create a real warm and cosy atmosphere. There are three comfortable bedrooms; one king-size, one double and one small double which is best suited to one adult or two children. Completing the interior is the beautiful family bathroom with a large free-standing bath for a long soak at the end of a day exploring.

Beautiful and comfortable home with everything needed for a family holiday. The location is perfect for long walks, runs and strolls around the countryside. The views and sunset in particular were amazing. The welcome book was full of useful information and recommendations for things to do in the area. Highly recommended!

Mintholme Barn was a great place to stay while we were visiting family in Manchester area. It is in a lovely rural setting, with good views and walks, yet also really easy to get to the motorway. The house itself is cosy, comfortable and well equipped with thoughtful items. We had a lovely, restful week and hope to return.

Accommodation was exactly as described, well equipped and comfortable. The hosts were very prompt with a response to a query prior to our arrival and have clearly put a lot of thought and effort into ensuring guests have all they need to enjoy their stay. Even left some treats for our four legged friends!
