Attractive farmhouse with stunning views across the Eden Valley. Charming, country-style accommodation with a range oven and wood burner. A great base for exploring the fells of the North Pennines, Yorkshire Dales and Lake District. This property is the perfect base for family or friends looking to explore the great outdoors, offering some fabulous walks from your front door. This picturesque fellside location is less than 7 miles from Kirkby Stephen and 11 miles to the historic market town of Appleby, which is on the famous Settle to Carlisle railway line. The village of Brough is 2.5 miles away, with a ruined Norman castle, local shop, seasonal ice-cream parlour and pubs. You are within easy reach of the North Pennines, Yorkshire Dales and The Lake District National Park, with walks such as the High Cup Nick and High Force just a short drive away. Alternatively, take a boat from Pooley Bridge (28 miles) to Howtown where you can walk to Glenridding and catch the boat back to Pooley Bridge, one of Wordsworth's favourite walks – which offers views of Ullswater and Helvellyn.

This attractive traditional farmhouse, dating back to the late 1800s, is set on the southern edge of the North Pennines, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, perfectly positioned with spectacular views over the Eden Valley. Inside, it is filled with character and charm, offering guests a warm welcome. Entering through the front door, you will find yourself in a porch with a stone floor and bench. The real charm of this property comes from the mix of character features and contemporary styling, bringing old and new together. When you walk into the hallway, you will find the cosy lounge to your right, with comfy seating, a wood burner and a beamed ceiling. This room offers a great space to catch up on the day’s events, or why not bring out your competitive side with a board game or simply kick back and read a good book or perhaps watch a movie on the Smart TV? Across the hallway, you will find the formal dining room. Enjoy a hearty breakfast here before heading out to explore or celebrate a special birthday or occasion with your party. The kitchen is accessed up one step from the hallway or the dining room. It has a country feel with a Belfast sink and a small, moveable, breakfast bar, with modern finishes including a SMEG fridge and dishwasher and electric range cooker. Along the hall from the kitchen, you will find the utility room with a washer/dryer and shower cubicle, while next door there is a handy, separate WC. Head up the stairs from the hallway to the first floor; here, you will find four comfortable bedrooms and a family bathroom. The front bedrooms have views across the open fields and fells, while the back bedrooms have views of the back garden and the woodland behind.

Outside, the front garden is a tiered, enclosed lawn, with traditional park fencing. There are seating areas to the front with stunning views over the fields, the Eden Valley and the fells beyond. The front of the house is a real suntrap and a great spot to enjoy a morning coffee or a glass of wine at night while stargazing! Parking is available for up to 4 cars.

A great place for a winter family gathering. The living room was warm and cosy with comfortable sofas and a good table for board games. The spacious bedrooms were warm with very comfortable beds.

We had a lovely 2 weeks in this fabulous accommodation, ideally situated for days out to the Lake district, the Yorkshire Dales & Northumberland. The Cottage was very comfortable and clean, we would definitely book another holiday at Windmore End Farm.

Wonderfully situated with wider-ranging views. There's a neighbouring house but it doesn't intrude. The woodburner worked well. The immediate area is beRead moreautiful with plenty of history yet little visited. Even in bank holiday week there were no crowds, but it's a short drive to the Lakes and Dales. Hide

Beautiful location with lots of rooms to spread out in. Well equipped kitchen and nice to have a separate dining area. No back garden, but a lovely small front garden ( not enclosed) with amazing views. Used as a base to visit the Lake District, found a great walk 10 min drive away at Eden Viaduct
