Situated in an idyllic position above Lake Ullswater, the views from every window of this cottage are breathtaking. Spectacular walks for all abilities, from a stroll up to Lanty’s Tarn to a day’s hike up to the summit of Helvellyn, can be undertaken from the doorstep. A pub is within 300 metres, and shops, cafes and restaurants can be found down in the village of Glenridding just 800 metres away. This location is ideal not only for those seeking peace and tranquillity but also provides a perfect base for further exploration of the lakes and fells of the Lake District.
The cottage provides a warm welcome into the front porch which has seating where you can relax with a good book or a coffee and take in the views. The lounge with its original open fire and stone flooring is a comfortable place to unwind after a day of adventure. Next door, there is a well-equipped kitchen with a dining area, and there is a handy utility area in the back porch which is also a great space to dry off wet coats and muddy walking boots. There is also a ground-floor WC.
The stairs up to the first floor take you to a double bedroom with outstanding views. Across the landing, there is a single bedroom and a family bathroom. On the second floor, there is a spacious double bedroom with views of the fells and Lake Ullswater. The large picture window offers the perfect spot to sit at the end of the day and completely switch off as you look across the valley.
There is a small, secluded and attractive front garden with seating and views of the mountains. It is a real suntrap and a great place to enjoy a morning coffee or stargazing in the evening.
As the 2nd double room can be noisy with the wind during winter months, this property may be suitable for a party size of 3 from October - March.
