Enjoy a stay at this delightful retreat which sits adjacent to the owner’s home yet where your privacy can be assured. This retreat is set in a peaceful residential location in the port town of Bideford, with its busy quayside, independent shops, and choice of eateries. It’s a conveniently placed property that overlooks the River Torridge in North Devon, just a short distance downriver from where the estuary opens onto the sea. This position means you are close to the quay where you can enjoy boat trips – why not try a fantastic 2-hour trip which takes visitors out to the isolated island of Lundy, with its resident seal colony and puffins? Head 3 miles to the pretty fishing village of Appledore, where visitors can enjoy a relaxing day trip pottering around the shops, strolling along the quay, and perhaps catch the ferry across to the neighbouring village of Instow with its yacht club and beach.
Enter the property through the front door and into an entrance hall with filled bookshelves and quirky artwork. Behind the staircase, a small shower room with WC can be found. To one side of the staircase, you will find a well-equipped kitchen/diner with everything you need to cater for your stay. The other side of the staircase offers a bright and comfortable lounge with a Smart TV, music system and smart speaker, comfy sofa and chairs, and there are also French doors leading out to the side of the property and the lovely garden beyond. Heading upstairs, there is a galleried landing and a master bedroom with a king-size bed, TV and en-suite shower room with WC. There is also a walk-in wardrobe and superb views across the gardens to the river beyond. The last two bedrooms are a small double with good views and a small single room. The family bathroom with a shower over bath and WC completes the accommodation.
Stepping outside, the large gardens offer plenty of room to relax, while a raised patio area makes the most of the views and is well furnished with garden furniture and charcoal BBQ. A private hot tub makes the most of the views and the expanse of lawn is ideal for children to play. Please note that children must be supervised in the garden due to some sudden drops.
