A lovely cottage in beautiful countryside surroundings, perfectly positioned for exploring the rugged North Devon coast.

With original beams and stonework, this lovely cottage is just a ten-minute drive from the centre of Barnstaple, which has a vibrant array of leisure facilities and a good selection of pubs, restaurants and shops. If you want to spend some time on the beach, Westward Ho! is just a 15-minute drive away and Great Torrington, Croyde, Woolacombe, Lynmouth and Ilfracombe are all within easy reach. A range of countryside walks are available right from the doorstep and your private patio offers beautiful countryside views, perfect for sitting back with a drink and a book.

The accommodation offers three bedrooms for six guests with one double with en-suite bath and WC, one twin with en-suite shower only and one double. The main bathroom has a roll-top bath and WC and there is also a downstairs shower room with WC. The comfortable lounge has a TV/DVD and there is also a dining room. If you would prefer to stay in and cook than go out to eat, the well-equipped kitchen has an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer.

Outside is an enclosed garden and patio area with garden furniture and there is onsite parking available for two cars.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Barleystore was perfect for us. The cottage was cozy and had everything I needed (apart from a measuring jug and instructions to work the jacuzzi bath). The enclosed garden was perfect for our dog and the location was very quiet which was great. I wouldve given a 5 for comfort but the mattresses arent great. The scones, clotted cream and jam was a Read morelovely gesture and there were many basic household essentials provided which was fab too. Hide

Our holiday home was spot on, the only suggestion we could make regarding improvements is, there were an awful lot of flies so wasn't ideal for the kids. The shower upstairs decided to leak on the first day which meant we needed to queue for showing downstairs. As a base to visit North Devon it fulfills its requirements. We had a wonderful time doing that. I wouldn't have enjoyed staying in for a week.. It was not a home from home as other places have been.

Lovely cottage owners were great and helpful we had a problem with the water but it was soon sorted out nothing was too much trouble. They left scones and clotted cream and jam on arrival which was a lovely gesture. The hosts were accommodating ,There were scones and clotted cream left for us on arrival and they allowed us parking for an extra vechile.However, we were disappointed with the accommodation.There was no DVD player which was on the paperwork, the hot tap in bedroom didnt work, beds were extremely uncomfortable and bedding hadnt even been ironed.TheRead more downstairs was spacious, upstairs was cramped.It wasnt nearly as well presented as the pictures suggested. Firstly the property was for sale which we were unaware off. Property was not particularly clean. Small fridge not big enough for family of 6 food storage. Room with twin beds not suitable for adults more a kids room, with tiny wardrobe unsuitable for adult clothes. Rear garden more of a yard with no countryside views.
