  • Split-level contemporary apartment in a stunning building designed by Brunel
  • Modern holiday home with historical 19th century heritage design evident throughout
  • An excellent base for visiting many local attractions either by car or rail
Property code: 93041

A contemporary extension of the Old Carriage Works, a Great Western Railway building originally constructed in the 1860s and designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel. This stunning split-level apartment is in the centre of Lostwithiel next to the River Fowey. Lostwithiel is one of the original and oldest towns in Cornwall. Called a Stannary town due to its historic links to tin mining and the Duchy of Cornwall, the town is situated in a beautiful, wooded valley within easy reach of both Cornish coasts, the moors, and all of Cornwall’s attractions including the Eden Project (5 miles), the Lost Gardens of Heligan (14 miles) and the latest attraction, Bodmin Jail Museum (7 miles). Walkers can join the Saints Way that runs along the edge of the town or explore the southwest coastal path for some of the counties' most spectacular views.

Spaced over two floors, this property has plenty to offer. Its well-equipped kitchen/dining room is the perfect place to gather and socialise around the large table. Next door is a wonderful large lounge with a Smart TV, Sonos smart speaker, Blu-ray DVD player, and comfortable seating, the perfect spot to curl up and watch your favourite programmes or enjoy the selection of DVDs and games available. Just off from the living area is a balcony terrace with a small table and chairs to enjoy your morning coffee or evening cocktail while looking at the River Fowey. Completing the first floor is a single bedroom, and a cloakroom for your convenience. Make your way up to the second floor which offers two further bedrooms. The first, a light and spacious room with a king-size bed, complete with an en-suite shower room. In the second you'll find a large triple room, with three full-size single beds, two of which can be pushed together to make a super-king bed. The bedroom also boasts plenty of storage space. You will also find the family bathroom, complete with bath with shower and WC.
The property benefits from it's own private parking space. Close by, there is a communal park and picnic areas and a children’s play park to enjoy.

A delightful week in this spacious, well-presented and well-located apartment, parking handy, bins close by. Great TV for Wimbledon. Generally very peaceful riverside setting. Great for trains around Cornwall. Local shops and pubs a short walk in lovely Lostwithiel. The only issue was that the pipes passing through the rear twin room would occasionRead moreally and randomly make a lot of noise even in the middle of the night. Would definitely go back. Hide
