Set on the western edge of the Lake District National Park just 4 miles from the Irish Sea coastline, this stylish family cottage for four is perfect for both a coast and country getaway in Cumbria. For nearby shops, restaurants and pubs, head to the village of Gosforth (1 mile) where you can buy the ingredients to cook your favourite meals back in the cottage. Slightly further to the west is the charming Victorian seaside village of Seascale (4 miles) with its fantastic beach and rich history. With the Lake District on your doorstep, guests are spoiled for the wealth of scenic walking trails all around them. Popular walking spots in the area include Eskdale (5.5 miles on foot), Wast Water Lake (6 miles on foot), and England’s highest mountain, Scafell Pike (7.6 miles on foot).

Head through the picket gate and garden path to enter a bright and airy cottage with elegant designs throughout - the perfect setting to kick back and embrace your holiday. Kick off muddy boots in the porch before walking into a welcoming lounge with a crackling wood burner, comfy sofas and Smart TV to help you kick back. Next is the open-plan kitchen and diner, the ideal space for socialising. Cook up a storm in the well-equipped and underfloor-heated kitchen before gathering around the dining table that looks through the large glass doors to the garden. At the end of a day in the elements, head upstairs for some much-needed rest. A lovely king-size bedroom awaits with plenty of space and style, while the double bedroom looks out to the surrounding greenery and promises a good night’s sleep. If you need to answer some emails in peace, then make use of the thoughtfully fitted home working space, and benefit from a family bathroom with underfloor heating to keep relaxed and refreshed during your stay.

Outside is a tranquil garden with plenty of space for little ones to run around, while the patio area and outdoor furniture offer the opportunity for some memorable alfresco meals. With a stream running through the garden, this is the ideal spot to relax with a cuppa before a day of adventuring.
