The cottage is set just off Main Street in Bothenhampton, along a no-through road which leads to a nature reserve. The pretty little village provides an excellent setting for all the family to enjoy, which although being in a quiet location, also benefits from local amenities including a supermarket and a local pub, as well as lots of rustic charm. The property is located less than a mile from the historic market town of Bridport which boasts an array of eateries, vintage shops and twice-weekly markets. The cottage is also only a mile from the beautiful coast at West Bay where you can join the South West Coast Path, peruse the working harbour, have a drink in one of the many cafes, or take a boat tour to learn more about the Jurassic Coast.

This charming cottage has a rich history, originating from a barn that belonged to one of the first properties in Bothenhampton. The preservation of its heritage is evident in the beams and reclaimed stone walls that grace the interior. The unique layout of the cottage is an upside-down design. Upon entering through the rear door from the garden, the ground floor features two bedrooms, including a king size room, and a single room with a trundle bed (on request at time of booking). The main bedroom holds a delightful secret – the entrance to an en-suite, cleverly concealed between the wardrobes. Additionally, there is a family bathroom on the ground floor. Ascending the stairs to the first floor reveals an open-plan kitchen/dining room with panoramic views of the surrounding open countryside. The lounge boasts a Smart TV, comfy sofas, a wood burner-effect electric fire, and abundant natural light streaming through the skylights. There is another WC on this level.

Stepping outside through the stable door on the ground floor, you'll discover a secure, south-facing rear garden, creating a perfect setting to enjoy meals and stargazing in the evenings.

  • 2 bedrooms – 1 king-size, 1 3’ single with an additional 2’6’’ trundle bed (on request at time of booking)

Great location, 15 min walk into Bridport. Well equipped and very comfortable. Good selection of games and puzzles. Bridport was a great town with plenty of places to eat, and there are some lovely beaches nearby.

A well appointed, well placed comfortable cottage, in a pleasant village but close to many amenities in nearby Bridport. We enjoyed our stay and would go again except that there are too many other places in the world to explore!

The cottage is in good condition and ideal quiet location for exploring Bridport and West Bay. It was clean and pretty well equipped with lots of hot water and heating. Welcome pack of milk, a lovely bottle of wine and local biscuits was appreciated. The kitchen could benefit from a small dishwasher though and some updated decor and lounge furniturRead moree. Ideally situated for a short break and handy parking too. Hide
