This traditional Lakeland cottage is situated in the friendly village of Threlkeld at the base of Blencathra. We loved the cottage. We have stayed in Threlkeld previously, but this has been the best cottage we have stayed in and would definitely returned.

A beautiful, well equipped cottage in a fantastic location. The large garden was great for our dog too. Perfect location for walking and other activities as well as relaxing in such a peaceful spot. We enjoyed kayaking, ghyll scrambling, horse riding and Via Ferrata all nearby. The old railway path from Threlkeld to Keswick was perfect for traffic Read morefree family bike rides too. There's also fantastic playground + playing field that are only about 100 yards from the cottage. We'll definitely return! Hide

The cottage is very spacious and well equipped with a conservatory that looks out onto the garden, which is absolutely amazing - I have never stayed in a rental property with one as beautiful - and our dogs were besides themselves with joy sniffing out the rabbits and other wildlife. Jacky Garth was probably one of the loveliest holiday homes weve spent a week in. Good weather, we made use of the spectacular garden with views over Clough Head, to sit and eat out in, the kitchen has all you need for holiday catering, good quality items, decent workspace & storage. The utility room was useful for boots & waterproofs (only needed Read moreonce). The conservatory & sitting room were very comfortable as were the beds. It took a couple of days for my head to learn where the low beams were positioned, but having said that a well positioned comfortable cottage. Relaxing break.
