A property recently refurbished to create the ideal home-from-home in Totnes, this delightful cottage invites couples or small families to discover South Devon with their two canines leading the way. Totnes stands out from other South Devon towns thanks to its rich history and flamboyant character, where weekly markets and independent shops line the high street (less than 0.5 miles). Surrounded by countryside and meandering rivers, this is a great base for walkers and lovers of nature, who can enjoy the peaceful strolls to Dartington (1.7 miles) or closer to home, Totnes Castle (less than 0.5 miles) – one of the best examples of a Norman motte and a feast for history fanatics. Totnes is a very central town and is one of the main routes through South Devon, making this a great location to explore other parts of the area. Dartmouth is 14 miles away with picturesque scenes of the River Dart, while Paignton is just 5.5 miles away where you can take little ones to the seaside attractions and popular Paignton Zoo.

Step through the front door and into the hallway where you can hang coats and kick off muddy walking boots. To your right, you’ll find the delightful open-plan lounge/diner where vibrant decor and comfy furnishings combine to offer a wonderful social heart to the home. The lounge space beckons with its Smart TV and inviting L-shaped sofa, while the spacious, characterful dining space is the best place to enjoy the chef’s work as you plan the next day’s adventure. At the rear of the cottage, you’ll find the well-appointed kitchen with all you need to cater for the group, as well as access to the sun-drenched garden outside. When day turns to night, follow the cottage stairs to the first floor where two sumptuous and vibrant bedrooms await. Served by the family shower room, these rooms include a super-king-size that can be converted to a twin on request, and a cosy twin room that the kids will love.

Outside awaits a gravelled, enclosed space surrounded by greenery where you can start and end each day in peace. On sunny mornings, sit beneath the parasol at the table and chairs to enjoy an al fresco breakfast, while a handy fire pit and BBQ offer endless evening entertainment under the setting sun.

The cottage was very clean & beautifully decorated, the best we have ever stayed in. Furniture & fittings were of good quality & comfortable too. Parking was a little tight but we have a big car so a smaller car than ours would be no problem. The parking outside the cottage is tight and the approach road is narrow. The cottage is located very close to the main road and train station and so car and train noise is some what invasive. However, 5min walk to town and close drive to other towns and coastal area's. Great walks along river to Dartington, and also walking distance to the South DRead moreevon Steam railway. Hide
