This property enjoys a fantastic location in the traditional fishing village of Appledore, where fishing boats bob in the harbour and restaurants and pubs offer the delicious local seafood. Just across the estuary, and accessible by ferry, is the neighbouring village of Instow, where there is a family friendly beach, a pottery studio, art gallery, and a choice of eateries. Further afield, the huge sandy beach at Westward Ho! is just a five-minute drive from the property, offering two miles of sand and a surf school. Other attractions in the area include the privately owned village of Clovelly, the harbour town of Bideford, The Milky Way adventure park, and RHS Rosemoor. There really is something for everyone.

This characterful cottage offers charming accommodation which the owners have thoughtfully styled with some chic maritime touches. On entering the property, guests will find the light filled dual-aspect lounge/diner, with its comfortable seating, electric fire, Smart TV and DVD player. Next to the lounge, the kitchen also has a light and airy feel, and offers an oven and hob, microwave, fridge with ice compartment and washer/dryer. The first of these is a double bedroom, with a pretty window seat, rocking chair, large fitted wardrobes, and chest of drawers. The neighbouring twin room has a chest of drawers for storing clothes. The contemporary bathroom has a shower over bath (3/4 size) and WC.

The cottage was perfectly situated for access to all that Appledore has to offer, and is only a 6 second sprint to the ice cream van on the quay. We had a wonderful two weeks and would highly recommend a stay at Kittiwakes. Plenty of room for a four person family. Thank you for having us, we'll be back! x

Great location right by the quay, with some nice shops close by for those essentials and a lovely deli . Cute cobbled streets and hideaways to explore. Appledore is very well set up for social distancing.

Great central location. Quiet out of season, but maybe a bit noisy in high season. Very warm & cozy for a winter break. Owners very helpful & friendly. WiFi, Freeview, books & DVDs all provided. Lots of choice for places to eat & drink within easy walking distance. Two minutes to bus stop with regular buses to Bideford & beyond.

Kittiwakes at Appledore, Devon, was a real home away from home. We cannot rate it highly enough! The owners, Judi and Martin were so hospitable, thoughtful and kind, and couldnt do enough for us. The house itself is beautifully presented with every attention to detail. Great location, bus transport a couple of minutes walk from the house and frequeRead morent ( every half hour) to take you into Barnstable or Bideford. Buying a weekly bus ticket for 16.50 is a great saving. We loved our stay! Hide
