Inviting families or groups of friends for a peaceful Cumbrian getaway, this welcoming bungalow sits in the quiet village of Eaglesfield and is perfectly situated for exploring the Lake District. Just 3 miles away is the town of Cockermouth, birthplace of William Wordsworth, offering a variety of independent restaurants, shops, and pubs. Keswick (15 miles) is one of the Lake District’s most popular towns and a fantastic base for the region’s many walking and cycling trails. Guests are also just 5 miles from Loweswater, and Holme Force waterfalls. Within 17 miles, you'll find Bassenthwaite Lake and Derwentwater, both of which offer great water sports opportunities. Explore the harbour town of Maryport (10 miles) which features an aquarium with a cafe, crazy golf, a children’s play area, and the Wave Centre – perfect for families and rainy days.

This lovely, refurbished bungalow welcomes you with a warm and inviting atmosphere. As you enter, you'll find yourself in a hallway leading to a beautifully decorated lounge with a large picture window offering breathtaking views over the surrounding fields. On clear days, you can even catch a glimpse of Scotland in the distance. Light the wood burner in here on chilly evenings, and crash into the soft seating in front of the Smart TV. This room also offers access to the peaceful and comfortable conservatory which looks over the garden – a great spot for a quiet morning cuppa. When stomachs start to rumble, walk through to the kitchen/diner where the chosen chef can look out over the countryside as they whip up a feast in this well-appointed space. Dine by the windows in here, and when day turns to night, choose from three sumptuous bedrooms. Served by a well-equipped family bathroom with a walk-in shower, these rooms include two welcoming doubles and a cosy twin.
Outside, the cottage is surrounded by an enclosed garden that offers plenty of space for little ones and your travelling canine to unwind in the sun. The garden is lawned and boasts a tranquil pond and fruit trees to sit under with your holiday read. This is an ideal home from home cottage. Would certainly look to use again. Very homely wanted for nothing and the view from the picture window has to be seen to be believed.
