This beautifully presented property provides a tranquil family and couples getaway, located 0.5 miles along a farm track with mesmerising views across open countryside towards the Northumberland coast on one side and the Cheviot Hills on the other side. From this stunning cottage’s doorstep, you can take rejuvenating country walks and breathtaking bike rides, and in the evenings, sit outside and unwind by stargazing until bedtime. Days out can include a visit to Alnwick Castle and Gardens (6 miles), picnics and dog walking on the beach at Low Newton-by-the-Sea (8 miles), water sports and beachside brunch at Beadnell Bay (11.5 miles), and a boat trip from Seahouses (12 miles) to see the amazing bird life, grey seal colonies and puffins (seasonal) on the Farne islands. Enjoy seafood in Craster (9 miles) and head to Wooler for walking in the Cheviots (15 miles).

Enter this gorgeous single-storey, stone-built cottage via the raised terrace and head into the impressive, ‘wow-factor’, open-plan lounge, dining and kitchen space. The whole property benefits from underfloor heating and has been furnished and finished to an extremely high standard. The large, double-sided wood burner is a focal point of the living space, set on top of a stone plinth, adding additional cosy warmth in the winter. The lounge window looks out onto the fields and across to the coast. There is plenty of room for everyone to spread out and relax with a comfortable six-seater sofa, a three-seater sofa, easy chairs and a footstool in the lounge area. Enjoy a movie night with a wall-mounted 65" Smart TV for entertainment, and there is a range of books to browse during your stay too. The spacious kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need, and features a large kitchen island where you can prepare delicious meals or chat with a drink while the family cook prepares a tasty meal. Sit together at the large dining table for sociable mealtimes overlooking the courtyard. A glazed door opens to the courtyard so you can enjoy indoor/outdoor living too. A door off the kitchen leads to the utility room with a sink, a washing machine, and a pulley-style clothes dryer. A door off the lounge area leads to the boot room with plenty of coat hooks and a comfortable bench seat, perfect for putting on your walking boots, and the separate WC is just off the boot room. Enjoy a great night’s sleep in the tranquil king-size bedroom just off the main living area, with a mix of French and English country cottage style, and with a large window overlooking the courtyard. There is a walk-in closet for your things, and the en-suite comprises a shower and WC. A door from the lounge leads to two more bedrooms. There is a generous twin bedroom with views across the fields towards the sea, and an en-suite with a large, walk-in shower and WC. The family bedroom has the same lovely views, with a king-size bed and a single chair/bed for an additional guest. The en-suite has a walk-in shower and WC. The family bathroom has a spa-like feel and features a luxurious copper bath where you can escape for a while to relax in some bubbles.

Outside at the front, there is a raised terrace accessed via three wide, stone steps with garden furniture where you can sit with a drink and enjoy stunning views over the rolling countryside towards the Cheviot Hills on one side and towards the coast on the other. At the rear, there is an enclosed courtyard with garden furniture, perfect for al fresco dining. Sit outside after dark to stargaze in the truly dark Northumberland sky.

The cottage was beautifuly decorated, equipped with absolutely everything you need and homemade biscuits from the host. Would be nice to have some long dog walks without having to go in the car, but the stunning cottage more than makes up for that. Wonderful hospitality.

The accommodation is of a very high standard and immaculately clean. Everything was thought of down to tiny details such as a box of tissues in each room. The owners were welcoming and helpful. The enclosed courtyard garden was great for the dog. I highly recommend this property.
