Property code: LAMBS

Comfortable barn conversion property situated on the owner’s farm, just a mile away from Ottery St Mary’s town centre, and eight miles from the beach at Sidmouth.

The town of Ottery St Mary, on the outskirts of which this property is located, enjoys a fantastic location surrounded by countryside, and yet just a fifteen minute drive from the city of Exeter. ‘Ottery’ itself offers a range of independent shops, and a choice of eateries which pride themselves on serving the best of local produce. It is also quite unique, in that it still celebrates a number of traditional festivals, including Pixie day in June, and the Tar Barrells festival in November, where local men run through the town’s streets carrying flaming barrels of tar. The area surrounding the town has much to offer holiday makers, including the beach at Sidmouth, Wildwood Wildlife Park at Escot House, and Crealy Adventure Park.

This single storey property offers comfortable accommodation for four guests, who will immediately be able to make themselves at home, as soon as they enter the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. This light filled space has comfortable sofa seating at one end of the room, with patio doors which lead out onto the patio, a TV and DVD. Behind this area, the dining area has a table seating four, beyond which is the spacious kitchen area with its electric oven and hob, microwave,  fridge/freezer and washing machine. The property has two bedrooms, the first of which is a light and airy double room which enjoys countryside views, whilst the second bedroom is a cosy twin room. There is also a shower room with WC.

Outside, the property benefits from a fully enclosed patio, where guests will find a BBQ and garden furniture. This provides a fantastic place to sit and enjoy the peaceful surroundings and gaze over the fields where sheep and chicken roam. In fact, guests who would like to participate in farm life are able to make arrangements with the friendly owner, and help to collect eggs and to feed the resident lambs, depending on the season. There is ample off-road parking provided.

Lodge was lovely so peaceful surrounded by fields with animals in them. A bit far out of sidmouth but worth the ride for the peace and quiet.

The lambing shed is constructed like a static caravan so expect to hear all the farm noises outside, the location was great for exploring Devon just a short drive to lots of attractions. Its set on its own at the back of the owners farm and fields but next to someone elses house so its not exactly isolated but there are some nice views to the back.Read more Not much for sale in the farm shop and nothing to do on site. Close to some fab pubs but not much in walking distance. Hide

A fabulous place to stay within a farm. Quiet place but with all the amenities. The small touches really helped. Cleaning equipment, toilet rolls, tea and coffee, towels and linen. Also left some eggs, milk and a bottle of wine on arrival. Very friendly hosts. Always checking you were OK and nothing was a problem. Location was great. Just off the ARead more30. Hide

The accommodation was perfect for our needs (family of 4) with beautiful views of the countryside. The owners were very friendly and helpful, taking time to show our children the sheep and answer their many questions regarding the chickens. There were plenty of places of interest to visit nearby. I hope to come back to stay here again.

Comfortable, cosy, great views from the veranda, excellent location for touring the area and the sausages in the owner's farm shop are tasty too! Everything you would expect for a great holiday in the Devon countryside.
