A lovely apartment in Devon’s South Hams, which has been classed as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

 

Whatever you want from a holiday in Devon, you’re sure to find it in the South Hams. From the wild beauty of Dartmoor to the stunning southern coastline, there are endless miles of countryside, estuaries, rivers and beaches to explore. Close to Ferndale are the villages of Start Point and East Prawle, which is the most southerly point in Devon and home to a local popular pub, where there are often live music events and always good food. You will also be in a good location to explore Totnes, the maritime city of Plymouth, Dartmouth, and many small Devon villages filled with good pubs, tea rooms and galleries. Hallsands, with its unspoilt cove and intriguing history, is a lovely place to start a coast walk from, as is East Portlemouth where you can catch a small ferry to Salcombe.

The ground floor apartment, sleeping two guests, which has a mixture of slate and wooden floors, has one double bedroom with a lovely four-poster bed and a bathroom with shower over bath and WC. The bedroom has a fourposter bed. The pleasant, spacious open plan lounge/diner/kitchen has ample comfortable seating to unwind on. There is also a TV/DVD to catch up on all of your favourite TV shows and those films you’ve been meaning to watch for so long. The kitchen area comes fully equipped with and electric oven and hob, a fridge, toaster and microwave. A shared laundry room is also available.

Outside is an enclosed shared garden area accessed through the front gate and across a very quiet and narrow road. It also has beautiful views over the rolling South Devon countryside. The coast can be reached via a 30 minute walk along a footpath, direct from the property. Ample off-road parking is available.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Very helpful and friendly hosts and the property had all the facilities needed. Access to the fields for walking our dogs was a real bonus with a great view! We already knew the area well and were down for reasons other than a holiday but did visit Dartmouth and experienced the buzz of the regatta for the first time during our stay. We ate at the GRead morelobe in Frogmore one day and the food was very good and also The Britannia Cafe at Beesands were the fish was just as fresh and tasty as ever. Hide

In the middle of the South Devon countryside, a 30 min. walk from the beach. Fantastic location, beautiful house, lush gardens and very charming hosts. We had a wonderful time staying at Ferndale House (great weather, too), and would recommend this place to our friends.
