A delightful rural retreat for couples, friends or family, Choughs offers the best of both the Cornish countryside and the popular harbour town of Fowey. Set in the sleepy village of Bodinnick, the cottage is backed by fields and hills with views towards Fowey from the front. A 300-meter walk down the hill brings you to the welcoming village pub and ferry to Fowey, which can carry both vehicles and pedestrians. In Fowey, you will discover a range of boutique shops, excellent restaurants and lively local pubs. Take a walk to the sandy beach of Readymoney Cove, 1.5 miles away via the ferry, or enjoy the sweeping sands of Lantic Bay, 3 miles from the property. Don’t miss the Fowey Festival of Words and Music, held in May, or the Fowey Royal Regatta, held in August. Both bring many additional attractions and events to the town. For a fantastic day trip, visit the world-famous Eden Project, 13 miles from Bodinnick.
A real home-away-from-home, you enter the cottage through a relaxing sun room that looks out to rolling hills and fields. The open-plan living/diner is light and bright, with a comfy sofa and armchair facing a Smart TV and an electric fireplace with a unique stone surround. The kitchen continues the airy theme and comes well-equipped with everything a chef could need. There are two bedrooms, one with a bed and one with a double bed and a single bed. The colourfully tiled bathroom has a bath with a shower over, and there is an additional cloakroom with WC.
Outside, the front garden has a decked area with seating, ideal for enjoying morning coffee overlooking distant views of Fowey. To the rear, the private lawned garden backs onto green fields and features a paved patio with a table, chairs and a barbecue for al-fresco dining under the Cornish sun.
