Property code: OC-SEAVI

Instantly warm and welcoming, this traditional Victorian cottage offers a comfortable place for a family of four to settle in and call home whilst exploring the fantastic North Devon coast. The village of Mortehoe is a quiet spot that sits just half a mile off the South West Coast Path and within 1 mile of the expansive stretch of Woolacombe Beach. Perfect for sailors, surfers or those who prefer to just laze on the sands, this beautiful beach is a one-stop seaside spot on Devon’s coastline. The National Trust spot of Morte Point is accessible just 1.5 miles from home, wander on up here to soak up the views over the Bristol Channel and out to Lundy Island. Having admired from afar, you can take a boat trip over to the island from the harbour in nearby Bideford (24 miles). Whilst in this area we also recommend taking time to visit Westward Ho! (25 miles), Appledore (24 miles) and beautiful Instow (18.5 miles).

This charming, terraced property has been maintained with plenty of traditional features and a calming décor in neutral tones. Exposed brickwork surrounding an inglenook fireplace with a built-in wood burner creates a feature wall in the inviting lounge, complete with a bay window and wooden floors to add to the authentic feel of the space. Collapse into a sofa or armchair at the end of each day to relax. The lounge gives way to an open-plan dining space where you’ll find room for everyone to sit down together and a bookshelf with novels you can peruse. Glass-panelled doors lead into the adjacent kitchen. Head upstairs to find two bedrooms and a spacious shared bathroom with the added luxury of a roll-top bath and heated towel rail. Both the double bedroom and the twin bedroom boast comfortable beds, plenty of storage space and wonderful views from their windows.

As you approach the property, you’re instantly greeted by patio space with furniture. Sit out here first thing in the morning or last thing at night and watch as village life passes on by. There’s also a suntrap courtyard at the back of the accommodation offering a little bit more privacy.

Wow! We had the best week ever in Sea View. The cottage was cosy and welcoming like a warm hug. The views were spectacular and the location was brilliant. We were out, busy every day but coming 'home' was just lovely. The cottage was comfy and well equipped and the beds were great. We really didn't want to come home we loved this place.

Cottage in nice village with lovely views. Beware you need to provide your own towels. Cottage had mice problems, which ruined our holiday, wife couldn't wait to leave. No attempt to refund for the substandard cottage

A comfortable cottage, with two sitting out areas. Ideally located for the small village of Mortehoe, with several places offering food, with easy access to many local walks and only a short walk from Woolacombe with plenty of shops.

Nice little cottage in an excellent location with lovely sea views. We had a lovely week in Mortehoe, just think it needs some TLC to bring it up to a standard for the rental price.

We loved staying at Seaview cottage in Mortehoe. Lovely views of the sea every morning and we enjoyed walking the coastal paths to Lee bay or Woolacombe. There are two pubs close by where we had good meals and a few handy shops to get a few items. Would love to stay here again.

Wonderful location, lovely cottage. Only small points which I give her incase they're of use; we were unable to open the sash windows to any extent (perhaps they're meant to be like that?) and the decking in the back yard needs repair- rotten in places with nail heads protruding so not good for dog paws or bare feet. Otherwise wonderful. Thank you Read morevery much. Hide

The location of the property was superb and exactly as advertised. The views from Seaview are spectacular. The property could do with some refurbishment downstairs, but all in all we had an absolutely wonderful week away.
