This welcoming, traditional property in Thornton-le-Dale is the ideal accommodation option for small families or groups of friends in search of a tranquil and relaxing holiday within easy driving distance of the North Yorks National Park. The friendly village of Thornton-le-Dale is famous as the location of an exceptionally pretty thatched cottage that has appeared on countless calendars and chocolate boxes. Just 2.5 miles away, you’ll find the market town of Pickering, which is packed with historic buildings, independent boutiques and cosy eateries. Take your hiking boots with you because the route of the famous White Rose Way - a long distance trail from Leeds to Scarborough - passes right through the village. Alternatively, head to Dalby Forest (10 miles) to bike along some of its 55 miles of cycle trails. If you stay for the evening, you may be pleasantly surprised when the stars come out, because the forest is one of the best places in England to enjoy the night sky.
Step inside and you’ll find yourself in a welcoming vestibule and sun room. Take a moment to make yourself at home and then head to the kitchen to whip up some dinner for your loved ones. Get the whole gang together around the table in the dining room to eat, before heading to the lounge to relax in front of the open coal fireplace. A handy utility room and a cloakroom with a WC round off the ground-floor layout. Head upstairs and you’ll find two lovely bedrooms – one with a double bed (which can be converted to twin beds on request) and a single bed, as well as a smart en-suite bathroom. There is also a standard double bedroom. An elegant family bathroom completes the first-floor layout.
Outside, you’ll find a glorious split-level garden with a patio and sun deck – so pour yourself a drink and treat yourself to a dip in the hot tub (extra charge)
