Nestled in the beautiful Devonshire countryside, on the outskirts of Bampton, sits this attractive one-bedroom home. Formerly a farm building, it has been converted with precision and flair into a luxurious cottage and is the perfect romantic retreat for those seeking tranquillity. The cottage sits on a working farm in the hamlet of Cove, and the surrounding hills and valleys offer plenty of rural walking trails. For shops and restaurants, head 3 miles to Bampton or explore the 12th-century castle at Tiverton. Tiverton is 5 miles away and, with the Rive Exe flowing through it, it’s a pretty place for a picnic and a spot of trout fishing. For further outdoor activity, head 7 miles north to Exmoor National Park. Here you can explore the moors and hills on horseback, bicycle, and foot or kayak along the stunning Exmoor coastline.
Inside this character cottage is a wonderfully relaxing space. The open-plan ground floor is light and airy with glass panelled doors and soft furnishings creating a sense of comfortable splendour. Relax on the plump sofa with a film or simply sit and be mesmerised by the far-reaching countryside views. Extra comforts include underfloor heating, cushions on the sofa, and a kitchen equipped with an array of modern appliances. Enjoy an intimate meal at the pinewood dining table or, if you prefer, sit outside on the patio where there’s a table and chairs. From the lounge, a staircase spirals up to the mezzanine floor where the bedroom is located. Featuring a double bed with an en-suite bathroom, in the morning you can watch the sunrise over the fields through the floor-to-ceiling windows. A wood-beamed ceiling, neutral tones, and natural finishes also add to the soothing atmosphere.
Outside, there’s a pretty patio with a shady table and chairs. It’s a charming spot to take it easy and soak up the peaceful surroundings. To aid relaxation, there’s a Hot tub (shared with other guests), a huge shared garden, and a trampoline area that the kids will love.
