This classic two-storey cottage surrounded by countryside and pretty villages is the ideal getaway for a couple or small family who want a quiet getaway. Located in the sleepy hamlet of Harrop Fold in the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this property makes for an excellent rural retreat. For a day out exploring quaint villages and towns with listed buildings and plenty of places to indulge in a cream tea, then head to Barrowford (20.5 miles), Downham (14 miles) or Clitheroe (13 miles). Blow away the cobwebs and breathe in the fresh air on a stroll through Bowland Wild Boar Park (13 miles) or Waddow Lodge Garden (7 miles).

Walk over the stepping stones that lead up to the property, beside a grassy area and dry stone wall. Inside the kitchen/diner, the wooden cupboards and dark beams stretching across the ceiling create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. There’s also a cosy dining area with a table and four chairs for enjoying home-cooked meals. Walking into the living area, the characterful Victorian fireplace with an electric fire and towering wooden grandfather clock will immediately draw your attention. This room has a very classic and traditional cottage feel to it which will make you feel at home. Climb up the wooden stairs to discover two bedrooms and a bathroom. The master bedroom is spacious, with a double bed and luxurious chaise longue to rest on with a book and a cup of tea. Inside the second bedroom, there’s a bunk bed which is ideal for two children. Push open the large wooden door which will lead you into the bathroom; in here you can soothe aching muscles after fell walks with a bubble bath.

Accompanying this property is an enclosed garden with garden furniture to relax on when the sun is out.

Lovely, quiet, idyllic little spot. Wonderful retreat for me, my teenaged son and our dog. Feeling refreshed after our stay. We were ther on the hottest week of the year but remained cool in the cottage because of the thick stone walls, like having air con.

This is a lovely cottage in a remote area however there are many modifications needed to update the bathroom. There was a significant amount of mould on the ceiling and in the reveals in the lounge and dining room.
