A delightful period cottage at the heart of Woodbridge, this Suffolk retreat is a characterful and comfortable holiday retreat. Sleeping four guests, with the possibility of one extra, the three-bedroom property is within 450 metres of the town’s main shopping streets, with their boutiques, galleries, gastro pubs and restaurants. From the cottage, head out on walks beside the River Deben and through the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Visit the National Trust’s Sutton Hoo, 3 miles away, where a royal Anglo-Saxon burial ground was discovered, and have a day out by the sea at Aldeburgh, 16 miles away. Also visit Snape Maltings, where converted Victorian buildings now house shops, galleries, restaurants, and a famous concert hall.
Step inside this charming house to find light-filled accommodation with a gentle, nautical theme. In the entrance hall, there is a study area for anyone eager to catch up on work, plus space for jackets and shoes. Amble through to the lounge to lay a fire in the wood burner and settle down to a good film or a board game. The farmhouse-style kitchen/diner, with an Aga for the winter months, has ample space for whipping up tasty meals for your family or friends, as well as for dining together. Open the door in here on to the courtyard garden on warm days so everyone can wander outside. All the bedrooms at the cottage are up on the first floor. These are made up of a king-size, a single, and a double where the bed can only be accessed from one side. The charming family bathroom is also on this floor.
Spend summer mornings out in the courtyard garden having breakfast or coffee and dine out here too in the evening during fine weather.
