This delightful spacious detached four-bedroom property is a comfortable home-from-home, smartly presented and lovingly furnished with a characterful captivating coastal village a stone’s throw away. Situated on the South Devon coast across the Teign estuary, Shaldon is a picturesque fishing village made up of a maze of narrow twisting streets, thatched cottages and listed Georgian homes. Take a ride on Britain’s oldest passenger ferry, dating back to Saxon times, across the river less than 0.5 miles away to nearby Teignmouth for a spot of retail therapy or to stroll around the Victorian pier on the other side of the estuary. Completely enclosed by the shelter of the cliffs above, discover Ness Cove Beach (1 mile), a picturesque, secluded beach boasting plenty of rock pools and ideal conditions for swimming, accessed through an original smugglers’ tunnel.

An entrance hall welcomes you into the property and leads onto a spacious, light and bright living room boasting an expanse of windows and patio doors out to the garden, as well as elaborately patterned matching sofas, a Smart TV and a feature gas fireplace. A set of windowed doors lead into the connected open-plan kitchen/dining room, featuring a set of patio doors to the garden within the dining area, complete with a large table and chairs. The U-shaped kitchen is well-equipped with everything you may need to cater, with a handy utility room boasting an additional fridge/freezer plus a washing machine and tumble dryer. Back through the hallway, you’ll find a twin bedroom with a super-king-size zip-and-link bed and a handy downstairs shower room. Upstairs you’re met with another twin bedroom which features beds that can be joined together with super-king-size bedding, a large picture window and an en-suite bathroom. The rest of the upstairs is complete with one double bedroom, another twin bedroom and a contemporary family bathroom.

Patio doors from the living room and adjoining kitchen/diner lead out onto a south-facing covered patio terrace veranda, perfect for BBQs and dining alfresco. A large lawn makes up the rest of the garden, enclosed by a high wall and plenty of overhanging mature foliage, creating a perfectly private spot to enjoy family games or simply soak up the sun.

  • 4 bedrooms – 1 double, 1 twin, 2 twins (with super zip-and-link beds that may be arranged as king-size beds on request)
  • 3 bathrooms – 1 bathroom with shower cubicle and WC, 1 bathroom with shower over the bath and WC, 1 en-suite with shower over the bath and WC

We were a party of three couples who had a very pleasant stay in a well presented and spacious holiday home. A fabulous home from home in an excellent location close to all amenities but very quiet and secluded. The house was so spacious, well equipped and ideal for the 3 generations of our family. Even better than the photographs and parking for our cars was certainly a bonus. Communication with the owners, was excellent. Would thoroughly recommend.
