The tranquil location of this cottage is just the spot to unwind, relax and escape the everyday. The sunny garden has a Christmas tree plantation next to it and offers plenty of opportunities to spot local wildlife, such as deer, pheasant and barn owls. The magnificent tower of Salle Church can be seen rising above the surrounding countryside from many miles away, this large church stands at the side of a classic village green where cricket is played on Sunday afternoons. Salle, pronounced Saul, is today a small hamlet 10 miles southwest of Norwich. Locally it is well known for the plantations of Christmas trees grown by Salle Farm Estate. Close by is the larger village of Reepham (4 miles), which has a market on a Wednesday, a library, a butcher and several good pubs and cafes serving excellent food. The area is great for walking or cycling, the Marriott’s Way is a 26-mile footpath, cycle track and bridleway which follows the track of two former railways lines between Aylsham and Norwich.
The owner, a local artist, has created a characterful, vintage-style property with antique pieces and modern facilities and some of her work can be seen at the cottage. There are two sitting rooms on the ground floor offering plenty of space for guests to enjoy: one with an Ercol dining table and chairs and further comfortable seating, TV, CD player, wood burner and French doors to the patio and garden; the other has an open fire, relaxing seating and a TV and DVD player. The spacious kitchen/breakfast room is well equipped with a halogen hob and electric oven, fridge with ice box, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, and a table with four chairs. There is also a cloakroom with a WC on this floor. Moving upstairs, you’ll find all four bedrooms: one king-size with a feature fireplace; a double with an en-suite shower room and WC; a twin room and a single room with another feature fireplace. Completing this floor is a bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC.
Outside is an enclosed garden with a lawn and patio, table and chairs to sit everyone and a BBQ. The shed here can be used to store bikes. There is a gravel parking area fitting three cars.
