An inviting hideaway in the centre of the North Devon village of Braunton, this welcoming cottage offers superb accommodation for a family or group of friends eager to be close to the coast. Sleeping six guests, the three-bedroom holiday home, with its courtyard garden and wood burner, is just 2.5 miles from the sandy stretches of Saunton Sands beach, which is known for its surfing, as well as its swimming. Croyde Beach, 5 miles away, is another lovely stretch of sand. Also enjoy strolling about Braunton, with its many shops and eateries. Head off on foot or bicycle along the 180-mile-long Tarka Trail, taking you through scenic countryside. Pick up the South West Coast Path to hike along Devon’s picturesque coastline.
Wander into your cosy abode to find it offers well-presented, open-plan accommodation. The lounge/kitchen/diner has a modern feel, yet also offers hints at its original character through sections of exposed stonework. Stoke up the wood burner in here on chilly nights and choose a film to watch together on the TV or DVD. Send the chef of the day through to the generous kitchen to cook everyone a tasty meal and then gather around the table to enjoy it. There is also a separate WC at the ground-floor level. Make your way up to the first floor when nighttime arrives. Here you will find a king-size room with a TV, plus a double and a twin. The family bathroom with an elegant, freestanding bath, and a family shower room, are also here.
Bask in the sunshine out in the enclosed, courtyard garden on fine days. Serve breakfast, lunch and dinner out here and perhaps have a glass of wine in the fresh air as the day draws to a close.
