This charmingly refurbished, traditional cottage is a delightful holiday home on the village green of picturesque Orford, next to the River Alde. Head to Orford Town Quay to sail on a riverboat cruise through beautiful natural settings. Save time to visit the well-preserved medieval castle and climb it for excellent views; then top it off with a visit to the lovely local pubs and bakery. Take a day trip to the friendly, seaside resort of Aldeburgh (11.5 miles) and you can enjoy the long, pebbled beach by strolling the promenade and watching the fishermen sell their wares. Located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, you can immerse yourself in all of the stunning scenery or head to one of the nearby nature reserves.

Throughout this cottage are plenty of thoughtful little touches and beautiful pieces of furniture to make this a very inviting place to stay. Enter this cottage via one step and you’ll immediately notice the cosy character of the sitting room, which has traditional features like oak flooring and a wood burner which makes for a cosy night in. There’s seating for every type of relaxation with a sofa, armchair and easy chair plus entertainment from the Freeview TV, DVD, iPod docking station, books and games. The contemporary, tiled-floored kitchen and dining room has underfloor heating and a four-seater oak table and everything you could need for cooking up a storm. There is also a utility room on the ground floor and a family bathroom with the luxuries of underfloor heating, a freestanding bath and a walk-in shower. Upstairs, there’s the first-floor, spacious king-size with chic furniture and a lovely and twin bedroom. The latter goes into the eaves so there is some limited headroom, but this just adds to the charm.

Guests can make more memories in the fully fenced rear garden that has lawn and a large patio area with table and chairs. There is also a kettle BBQ for warmer days and a summer house for bike storage.

A well equipped cottage in a lovely position, and Orford is a great place to stay in summer.

The cottage is entirely as described, with good quality bed linen and towels. It was nice to have flowers and a bottle of wine left for us.

The cottage is in a lovely location , close to many areas of interest. The cottage was clean and the bed very comfortable.

Lismore cottage was a lovely home from home in a brilliant location in the centre of beautiful Orford. The cottage has everything you need and is well equipped - a very comfy bed, a gorgeous, well kept garden and is very pet friendly - our dog loved the huge bed! The local pub is great and the Pump st bakery nearby is far too tempting!

Some items at the property are requiring maintenance or replacement, e.g dripping tap in the kitchen which was dripping when we visited last year. Although the property was clean there were quite a few spiders webs that looked like they had been there for some while.
