This gorgeous 1939 house is an excellent option for a large group – for example, two or three families holidaying together. It’s located in Abersoch, a popular seaside resort with a pretty harbour and plenty of cafes and restaurants for you to discover during your trip. The local beach is only 300 metres away – why not take a pre-breakfast stroll for a scenic start to each day? Further afield, the nearby village of Llanbedrog (3 miles) is well worth the trip, as is Pwllheli, 7 miles up the coast.
You’ll enter the house into a roomy hallway with lovely oak staircases leading up and down. From here, step into the main living/dining room, a beautiful space with sofas, a TV, DVD and speaker system positioned on either side of a wood burner. There’s a long oak table seating up to 16 – ideal for those big family meals. French windows from here offer wonderful views and take you out to the decked area. The kitchen/living room, a stunning space with oak flooring and furniture, has a lovely fitted kitchen with high-quality appliances, including a wine fridge to keep your drinks cool. There’s a large sofa and a TV here, too. In the utility room, you’ll find the washing machine and tumble dryer. Also on the ground floor are two bedrooms – a twin with zip-and-link beds and a double with a lovely wooden bed. The roomy family bathroom has a limestone floor and walls, plus underfloor heating, for that five-star-hotel effect. On the first floor, you’ll find the master bedroom featuring an emperor-size bed, sofa and chairs. The views in here are truly fantastic, and there’s an en-suite bathroom with a period-style shower mixer, basin and radiators for a stylish flourish. In the elegant super-king-size bedroom, a gallery window provides incredible sea views toward Saint Tudwal’s Islands. The twin bedroom has zip-and-link beds that you can combine to make a super-king-size if needed. This room has a floor-length mirror, an indulgent armchair and an en-suite shower room. There’s also a family shower room with a limestone floor near these rooms. The lower ground floor of this majestic property has another super-king-size room furnished with antique pieces and with two feature alcoves. There’s also a quad room with two bunk beds – a great room for children to share. Guests of these rooms can use the shower room on the lower ground floor.
Outside the property, there’s a slate-paved covered area which you may find handy for storing sports equipment. The decked area has a dining table, chairs, a rattan sofa and a coffee table; this is a great spot for enjoying the sunshine or an evening cocktail. The large lawn is flanked by shrubs, trees and hedges, and at the front of the house, there’s a stone bird bath – still in use – dating back to when the house was built. Two gates from here lead to a path that heads down to the golf course and beach.
