  • Perfect location for enjoying the bustling village as well as the scenic countryside and coast

Property code: OC-463

Gaze out over the open Norfolk countryside as you soak up the sunshine in the expansive, lawned garden at this three-bedroom Burnham Market hideaway. Sleeping up to six guests, the single-storey abode makes a perfect retreat for anyone seeking a tranquil break while also wishing to be within reach of the bustling heart of the vibrant village. Make the most of the shops, galleries and gastropubs on the doorstep here. Venture into Wells-next-the-Sea, 5.5 miles away, for a broader selection of outlets and to catch a train along the light railway to Walsingham or to visit the beach, 1 mile from the town. Visit Holkham Hall, 5 miles away, with its splendid parkland grounds, with herds of roaming deer.

Wander into this peaceful cottage and head through to the spacious kitchen/diner to unpack your provisions and start preparing dinner for your party. This room has an Aga, for winter use only, and an electric cooker for other times of the year. There is also a microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. Pull a chair up to the breakfast table and watch the TV in here over a cup of tea, then serve your meal in the sunroom, which doubles as a dining space and has views out over the verdant garden, opening the door on warm days to bring in a cool breeze. After your meal, either settle on the sofa in here with your coffee or walk through the double sliding doors to the lounge, where there is additional comfortable seating, plus a TV, DVD, video, radio and CD player. You also have a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer for your beach gear and walking wear. Choose between a double bedroom and two rooms that can be arranged either with one king-size or two single beds, in advance. One of these benefits from an en-suite shower room with a large shower and a WC. There is also a family bathroom with a shower over the bath and a WC.

Spread out and enjoy the glorious garden as often as possible. Play cricket or rounders with the children on the lawn, dine out on the patio and fire up the BBQ when you feel like cooking outside. Take in the country views by day and gaze up at the big starry Norfolk skies by night. There is parking for four cars at the property.

Very spacious and comfortable property but was disappointed with the standard for the amount we paid.Directions could have been clearer and the house name sign should be at the end of the drive where you can see it. No welcome pack as stated. A few problems that need some attention which hopefully the owner will look into.

The house is lovely. The location is good, it was warm and comfortable and the garden looked over green fields. The conservatory is a perfect place to have breakfast or relax with tea and cake in the afternoon.

Maintenance/ repairs book which guests had written in, obviously not looked at or ignored. Light bulbs missing in en suite bathroom, shower cubicle needs a thorough spring clean( I actually got rid of most of the mould at the bottom) and the hole under the carpet in the master bedroom, beside the bed, is still a threat to elderly guests!!
