Discover a quaint cottage that sleeps three, with a welcoming living room and enclosed garden to relax in. Situated less than a mile from Leyburn’s high street, there are plenty of boutique gift shops, clothing retailers and tearooms to enjoy during your stay. Set within the Yorkshire Dales which are famed for their beauty, Leyburn is known as “a town for all seasons” and it boasts spectacular views of the surrounding countryside. If you have any trainspotters within your family or group, they’ll be pleased to know that the Wensleydale steam railway is just 13 miles away. There are various talks and tours to enjoy where you can learn all about the train station’s history.

Decorated with soft pastel colours and kitted out with stylish furniture, this holiday home offers comfort and charm. The living room features two fabric sofas – both two-seaters – and there’s a wood burner to curl up in front of. The exposed wooden beams make it feel extra cosy. During your stay, you may wish to relax and watch some movies on the TV or bring some DVDs with you to play. There are also a number of books to enjoy from the cabinet in the living room. The family-sized kitchen offers a deep vintage-style sink, plenty of cupboard space and all the appliances you need to prepare some homecooked meals. There’s also a dining table for you to eat together. When bedtime calls, head upstairs to the first bedroom with a relaxing king-size bed and more wooden beams to admire. The second bedroom, down one step, has a single bed and is perfect for accommodating an older child or adult. The bathroom offers a shower over the bath and space for you to store your toiletries in a mirrored vanity unit.

Outside, the enclosed garden features some patio space with a table and chairs for al fresco dining. There’s also an outdoor utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer to keep on top of the laundry while you’re away.

Silver Fern cottage is very comfortable and cosy. We had an enjoyable fortnight walking and cycling. It is possible to stay here and not use a car if you want to lower your carbon footprint. With careful use of the bus timetable there are many options for walks and days out. Being so close to Campbells supermarket is a huge bonus.

Perfect cottage for the three of us - we know the Dales well, but had not previously stayed in Leyburn itself - we would definitely stay at Silver Fern again.

Silver Fern is a lovely cosy cottage in a fantastic location. Right in the centre of Leyburn but also a stones throw to the Leyburn Shawl. The cottage is really well equipped and a real home from home. We had a very relaxing Easter break with our 2 dogs and will definitely be back.

Very good little cottage. We enjoyed being so close to Leyburn's amenities. Great meals at the Heifer (again) and the Sandpiper. Superb walks around Semerwater and the Wesley Circuit. Also enjoyed the Herriot museum in Thirsk, Hardraw Force and Dales museum at Hawes. So many walks still left to do, we will be back!

Lovely cottage in a fabulous location. Within 50 metres, you can step onto the Leyburn Shawl, with gorgeous views for miles and extensive walks. Stepping less than 50 metres the other direction, you can walk into Leyburn market square, with an exceptional Campbells supermarket, plus other shops, pubs and restaurants. It truly was a great spot, aRead morend the cottage is clean, very comfortable and perfect for a short getaway. We took our dog, so very handy to be so close to the Shawl to stretch her legs and such a beautiful hiking region. Hide

An excellent cottage close to beautiful walks and amenities. A small courtyard which is a proper sun trap. I thoroughly recommend Leyburn as a friendly place to stay.
