Retreat to this beautifully presented Victorian cottage in Hickling and find yourselves in an exceptional position for discovering the great beauty of the Norfolk Broads National Park. Up to five guests can stay at this three-bedroom cottage, which is just 1.5 miles from Hickling Broad, with its opportunities for sailing and day boat hire. Venture just 4 miles to Sea Palling, where you can paddle, swim and even try your hand at jet skiing, or for a quieter afternoon on the beach, try Waxham, 3.5 miles from the cottage. From Hickling, plan a trip to Norwich, 19 miles away, to browse its independent and high street shops, dine out in restaurants and visit the historic cathedral and castle.

Feel at home as soon as you arrive at this character abode, with its careful balance of original features and great comfort. Head into the lounge to light the wood burner then bask in its heat as you watch a film on the TV, Blu-ray or DVD player or listen to a CD or the DAB radio. Stroll through to the kitchen to make a cup of tea or to start preparing dinner and find you have a built-in electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and microwave in here, as well as a bistro table for quick snacks. For big meals together, light the wood burner in the dining room on chilly evenings and gather around the table in here. Discover you also have a ground-floor shower room, with a shower, WC and a washing machine too. Head up to the first floor at the end of each enjoyable day to enjoy a good night’s sleep in the king-size bedroom, twin or single, which has an extra foldaway bed. Wake up to take in the glorious views and big Norfolk skies from the cottage.

Have breakfast out in the courtyard garden on fine days. Read your book in the sunshine. Light the BBQ out here for supper and find you have a handy shed with space for two adult bikes.

A lovely property ideally sited for exploration of this part of the Broads and coastline. So quiet and cosy with the Log fire and CH. Great to be able to walk from the property to the village pub, staithe and reserve and further afield to Cley and Horsey. Parking wasn't a problem. We very much enjoyed our stay at The Cottage. It's very cosy and comfortable, well equipped, and spotlessly clean. It was very peaceful, surrounded by open farmland. Saw small heard of deer in field across road most evenings, and regularly heard foxes and a tawney owl. It is in good location to explore East Norfolk and the Broads. A lovely little cottage in a great location, with lots of attractions and activities within cycling distance (and the bonus of having a lockable shed for storing our bikes). Being an old cottage it is lovely and quaint and has low ceilings and doorways (a few bumped heads during the week!) It had all the equipment we needed and was nice and clean.

Warm and cosy cottage in easy walking distance to Hickling Broad and a good pub. Walks and cycling from the door, perfect for kayaking the Broads. The high water levels at the moment make this end of the Broads incredibly peaceful as the large boats arent getting under Potter Heigham bridge.

A really well equipped and cosy cottage. The location is perfect for exploring the Broads and the east coast. The village is very peaceful with an added bonus of a traditional (friendly) pub. All in all, an excellent place to stay.

We loved this cottage, it was well presented and clean and comfortable. Lovely quiet location, close to NWT nature reserve on Hickling Broad and also not far from the local beaches. Saw hares and muntjac in the surrounding fields. Within walking distance of local pub.
