For a relaxing holiday with family or friends in rural Sussex, stay at this beautiful converted barn located on the owner’s working farm. You’ll be 1.5 miles from Clayhill, a hamlet with a pub and a church. The medieval port town of Rye is 4 miles away; here you can admire cobbled streets, look round independent shops and enjoy dinner at one of many excellent eateries. For a day out by the sea, head to Fairlight (10 miles) or Camber Sands (11 miles).
Everything is on the one floor in this beautifully renovated property, starting with the large open-plan living area. This inviting space has oak flooring, a vaulted beamed ceiling and wrought iron chandeliers. In one corner there’s a well-equipped and modern kitchen where you can create wonderful meals. There’s a wooden table, chairs and a bench for enjoying food together. The lounge area has comfortable sofas and a cosy wood burner for keeping warm during the colder months. Sliding glass doors lead out to the terrace from here. Head down the hallway to reach three carpeted bedrooms – a double with an en-suite shower and two twin rooms. There’s a separate shower room with a large walk-in shower and a WC, plus a separate WC.
The patio is furnished with a table and chairs for enjoying meals alfresco. There’s also a fire pit plus a large lawn. Take in the beautiful countryside views from this idyllic spot. At the front, you’ll have access to a shared lawn with a picnic bench, as well as a separate fenced dog paddock where your pet can run around safely. The barn is on the land of a 25-acre working farm, so during your stay you can expect to see various livestock in the adjoining fields, as well as free-range chickens wandering about.
