Located in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this delightful cottage is the perfect country bolthole for a couple or small family, within easy reach of many of the region’s attractions and amenities. Part of a small group of holiday cottages on a working farm in the rolling East Sussex countryside, you can walk or cycle from your front door, or hop in a car to explore the region. The hilltop medieval town of Rye (7.5 miles) is filled with heritage from cobbled streets and Georgian houses, to remnants of the town’s smuggling past. In the other direction, lies the renowned Great Dixter Gardens (3.5 miles) and the beautiful 14th-century moated castle at Bodiam (7.5 miles). Alternatively, head for the coast to surf at Camber Sands (11 miles) or go beachcombing on Winchelsea Beach (9 miles).
This is a beautifully converted, two-bedroom cottage that’s finished to a high standard throughout. The entrance takes you straight into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner set beneath a vaulted, beamed ceiling with large patio doors and skylights offering ample natural light. The L-shaped fitted kitchen curves around one corner, next to a dining table for four. At the other end of the room is a cosy lounge area with twin sofas arranged around the TV and wood burner. Down the hallway are two tastefully presented bedrooms, a double and a twin, both with en-suite shower rooms.
At the front of the property is a sloped and open lawned area with a private patio and outdoor dining table so you can make the most of the tranquil surroundings. There’s also a communal lawned area with picnic tables shared with the other holiday cottages.
