Property code: OC-WAL369

Set in tranquil, rolling countryside just 0.5 miles from the village of Beulah, 9 miles from historic Builth Wells and on the edge of the rugged Cambrian Mountains, this property gives guests rare access to one of Wales’ true wildernesses. Great fishing, hiking, cycling and birdwatching are on the doorstep, not to mention spectacular dark skies due to low light pollution. What’s more, guests of this property are encouraged to bring their own horse and pets – stabling is available at the property and there are several beautiful trails and bridleways nearby to explore.

This charming single-storey annexe was once a bakery building located to the rear of the owners’ smallholding, and its gentle renovation preserves much period character while offering guests modern comforts. The annexe is accessed via a shared hallway, separating it from the owners’ house. Central to the main living area, an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, is a wonderfully preserved inglenook fireplace which was once the bakery’s oven. It now houses a large wood burner and, flanked by two comfortable armchairs and a day bed, draws guests to the warm and welcoming lounge area for a relaxing evening in. A dining table and chairs seating three guests, and a smart fitted kitchen complete the room. Off the lounge/kitchen/diner you’ll find a double bedroom and an en-suite wet room.

A patio table and chairs are available for use in the shared yard to the front of the property, to relax outdoors in good weather. Owner provides 'dog towels' in a basket for the use of guests when the weather is wet

Lovely place which combines the rural aesthetic of exposed wooden beams and stone walls with the functionality of a superb modern kitchen and toasty central heating.
