Explore the historic town of Holt, with its excellent range of independent shops, many offering fresh, local produce. Browse the art and antique galleries and sample the menu at one of the numerous cafes and restaurants. Take a trip on the Poppy Line heritage steam or diesel train from Holt to the seaside town of Sheringham (7 miles), with its sandy beach, bright beach huts, and promenade. Explore the rich wildlife of the outstanding coastline – a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty – with a boat trip from Blakeney (5 miles) for a fantastic view of seals basking in the sun at Blakeney Point.

Full of character and charm, the cottage interior has a bright, seaside feel, with light wooden floors and furniture, and two comfortable sofas in the open-plan living area. Pretty tiles set around a white wood burner-effect gas fire echo the nautical theme and a Smart TV and DVD and CD players provide plenty of entertainment. The dining area houses a table and chairs, while the spacious kitchen has an electric cooker and hob, fridge with an ice box, microwave, dishwasher and Nespresso coffee machine. An open-tread staircase leads to the main bedroom, where restful shades and light wood tones invite you to curl up on the comfortable double bed and watch the TV provided. The second bedroom has twin beds, one partly below a sloping ceiling. All the bedlinen comprises Egyptian cotton sheets and anti-allergenic duvets. A white, freestanding roll-top bath is the glamorous centrepiece of a light-filled bathroom, with a shower over the bath and WC.

Outside, a small courtyard to the side of the cottage is a spot to enjoy a drink and a book, while the gravelled area to the front has designated parking.

Lovely cottage in a fabulous location, considering its in town it was very peaceful, my only issue was the double bed, very uncomfortable and so I ended up in the twin room after the first 2 nights but understand beds are very subjective, supermarket was just through the gate so very handy, lots of places to visit within a half hour drive, parking Read morewasnt an issue for us as the third car decided to park elsewhere so we just reversed in everytime and didnt have an issue, however if you have a big car it could be a problem!! We visited Sheringham on the steam train, a couple of NT properties, Cley next the Sea and Cromer. Byfords is fab for breakfast. Didnt use the outside area as not very private and seating a bit poor. Cottage is in an ideal location for exploring the area. Holt is a lovely town with good shops. The Budgens supermarket is very close by. The cottage itself is very comfortable and provided all we needed for our holiday. Plenty of hot water and heating responsive when boosted.
