In a quiet position by the traditional maypole in the picturesque village of Kettlewell, this detached stone house is the perfect choice for a special celebration or cherished get-together. It is surrounded by the gorgeous scenery of the Yorkshire Dales National Park – even sitting right alongside the burbling waters of Kettlewell Beck – and there are a variety of walking routes that run straight from the house, ranging from gentle strolls and moorland rambles to more energetic hikes and climbs. Explore the boutique shops, traditional pubs and charming cafes of Grassington (7 miles), Skipton (14 miles), and Leyburn (16.5 miles), while Malham (14 miles), is both a popular village and part of a dramatic natural landscape that includes the Janet’s Foss waterfall, the massive limestone cliff of Malham Cove and Gordale Scar, a huge limestone gorge.
The beauty of the scenery outside is echoed by the quality of the interior of this stylish house, which is comfortably spacious, delightfully furnished and thoughtfully equipped for an enjoyable stay. There are two reception rooms in which to retreat and relax, both with Smart TVs and Blu-ray/DVDs: the main sitting room with ample seating and a wood burner, and a family room with further seating and a gas fire. There is a good quality sofa bed in the family room to sleep 2 guests (with bedding, linen, and towels in adjacent cupboard) by arrangement. There are two dining areas as well: a principal dining room that seats ten and has an ornamental fire, and a breakfast room (two steps down from the kitchen) that seats six. The handmade kitchen includes a range of appliances and an AGA, twin Belfast sinks, granite and oak worktops, and feature wooden lintels and columns. Two staircases lead to separate bedroom areas. The main stairs rise from the dining room to a spacious landing with an additional seating area for quiet relaxation. Off this landing are two twins and a double bedroom, each with lovely views and en-suite shower rooms featuring rainfall showers. The second staircase leads from the breakfast room to the super-king-size bedroom, a further double bedroom, and a family bathroom with a rainfall shower over the bath.
The extensive rear terrace which overlooks Kettlewell Beck is perfect for dining outside or simply breathing in the fresh Yorkshire air. It has tables and seating for 14 guests with parasols, lighting, and a charcoal BBQ.
