This delightful cottage dating back over 150 years is located on a peaceful lane, yet it’s only 500 metres from the village pubs of Westleton’s. With myriad walking routes leading from the doorstep, it is perfectly placed for couples and small families wishing to explore the delights of Suffolk on foot or by bike. Just 2.5 miles away is RSPB Minsmere where you can spot some of the UK’s rarest wildlife, take part in family-friendly activities or enjoy a scenic walk to one of the impressive lagoons. If you fancy a trip to the coast; the shingle beach of Dunwich is less than 3 miles away. As well as the beach, guests can also dine at one of the lovely country pubs and inns or take a trip to the family-friendly museum and learn about the village’s exciting history. For livelier days visit Aldeburgh, a bustling town as famous for its fish and chips as it is for its art, history and culture. Aldeburgh is less than 9 miles away, as are the bustling seaside resorts of Walberswick and Southwold.

Upon entering this quaint and homely cottage, guests will find themselves in the entrance hall with storage for shoes and coats which leads to the well-equipped galley-style kitchen. Stairs from the kitchen lead to the first floor where you’ll find a cosy lounge with an adjoining conservatory/dining room. Why not have someone play a tune on the keyboard whilst you await your dinner? French doors from here open to the garden and there is also a door leading to the family bathroom. On the second floor, you’ll find a well-appointed double bedroom and a twin bedroom with cabin-style beds.

An enclosed garden with mature shrubbery, a patio and outdoor furniture completes the property. This cosy spot will give you privacy for eating together or making plans for your stay.

A lovely comfortable cottage, close to the centre of the village and the pubs and shop etc. but wonderful walks only just over the lane, and not far to the coast at Dunwich and RSPB Minsmere. Nicely furnished and equipped. The wine was a really lovely and delicious surprise. We would come back, definitely.

Gorse cottage provided a lovely stay. We thoroughly enjoyed relaxing in the beautiful little garden with a book and watching all the birds. The village is very pretty and the people friendly and welcoming.

Excellent location situated between Southwold and Allburgh and right next door to Minsmere. The cottage is situated up a small side road which meant lots of quiet time for us which was wonderful.
