This lovely cottage is perfect for a couple or a small family group keen to get to know Cornwall's stunning north coast. Set on a calm street around 500 metres from Padstow's lively harbour, this home is a great find. The coastal path is just a few hundred metres from the front door, so pack a picnic lunch and hit the trail. Those who prefer two wheels can hire bikes and pedal their way to the Camel Trail, an off-road cycle trail leading inland from the town to Bodmin. Foodies will be in their element in Padstow with its many acclaimed restaurants where freshly caught fish features highly on the menus. Indulging in a scoop or two of Cornish ice cream is another must. Take a wander down to the harbour and board a pleasure cruise to see local marine life and sights, or get active with some water sports such as windsurfing, kayaking or sailing. There are plenty of golden sandy beaches within a 5-mile radius and the surf town of Newquay is 15 miles down the coast.
The cottage is on a quiet street with ground-floor access via a small gate. The galley-style kitchen with Belfast-style sink and slate-tile floor has all that you need to cook up a feast. There is a small dining area and a comfortable living room with French doors leading out onto a raised area overlooking the garden. A useful utility room and a WC are tucked away on the ground floor. Steps lead up to the first floor where the master king-size bedroom has stunning views across the garden and estuary. There is a small twin room with bunk beds that is perfect for children. The family bathroom features a separate bath and rainfall shower.
The garden is a real feature of the home, ideal for long summer evenings and days spent relaxing with a book. From the living room, the French doors lead outside and there are steps down onto a paved area with an outdoor dining table and chairs and a charcoal BBQ (charcoal not supplied). It is a pretty walled garden with flower borders, a shed and an ample lawn.
