This lovely cottage is perfect for a couple or a small family group keen to get to know Cornwall's stunning north coast. Set on a calm street around 500 metres from Padstow's lively harbour, this home is a great find. The coastal path is just a few hundred metres from the front door, so pack a picnic lunch and hit the trail. Those who prefer two wheels can hire bikes and pedal their way to the Camel Trail, an off-road cycle trail leading inland from the town to Bodmin. Foodies will be in their element in Padstow with its many acclaimed restaurants where freshly caught fish features highly on the menus. Indulging in a scoop or two of Cornish ice cream is another must. Take a wander down to the harbour and board a pleasure cruise to see local marine life and sights, or get active with some water sports such as windsurfing, kayaking or sailing. There are plenty of golden sandy beaches within a 5-mile radius and the surf town of Newquay is 15 miles down the coast.

The cottage is on a quiet street with ground-floor access via a small gate. The galley-style kitchen with Belfast-style sink and slate-tile floor has all that you need to cook up a feast. There is a small dining area and a comfortable living room with French doors leading out onto a raised area overlooking the garden. A useful utility room and a WC are tucked away on the ground floor. Steps lead up to the first floor where the master king-size bedroom has stunning views across the garden and estuary. There is a small twin room with bunk beds that is perfect for children. The family bathroom features a separate bath and rainfall shower.

The garden is a real feature of the home, ideal for long summer evenings and days spent relaxing with a book. From the living room, the French doors lead outside and there are steps down onto a paved area with an outdoor dining table and chairs and a charcoal BBQ (charcoal not supplied). It is a pretty walled garden with flower borders, a shed and an ample lawn.

The cottage is in a great location, a very short distance to town and great walks. No parking at the property which is ok if the weather is good but unloading and loading surf boards etc is a bit annoying after a few days. It is only a single track road too! Fire place is decorative only which we only found out on arrival. Towels and sheets are reRead moreally good quality and the bed was very comfortable. Views out the back are lovely and it was great to have the garden. Hide

Super Padstow cottage located in a quiet lane that leads to the beaches. The queen double bed was very comfortable, & the linens & towels were excellent quality. The kitchen was well equipped & clean. We had an enjoyable break & will happily return!

We had a great stay in this cottage, its location is peaceful, with a lovely garden, great views and easy access to the fields that lead to the beaches. A really comfortable bed (we only used the master bedroom), an amazing shower (once we got the temperature right!) and a kitchen that had plenty of everything we could possible need, made this Read morea great base for a week away. The house has a slightly quirky layout. We ate in the garden as the weather was glorious, but I wonder if a family would struggle to get around the dining table? Weve stayed in many properties in Padstow over the past 20 years or so and I would definitely book this property again; perfect for a couple. Its a bit of a hill climb up and down from the harbour but if you want somewhere a bit more peaceful with easy access to walks and beaches, I dont think you could do much better. Original Cottages, who wed not used before, were easy to book with and provided good pre-stay information and communication. Hide
