Elegant, traditional and rustic, this cottage in Llanaber is 1 mile from Barmouth and surrounded by countryside and with the sea just across the way for you to view. It's the perfect base for families who want a cosy, tranquil retreat with lots of seaside destinations to explore nearby on the North Wales coast. Start with countryside rambles, dog by your side, from your doorstep into the surrounding hills and near Snowdonia National Park. Spectacular views are yours to enjoy from Panorama Walk (2.5 miles). Enjoy a day in Barmouth at the Blue Flag-awarded beach where you can stop to grab an ice cream then stroll along the promenade and leave time to treat yourselves to a family meal at one of the restaurants. Kids will love the ferry ride from Barmouth to Fairbourne where they can hop on the charming steam railway and play in the amusements. Finally, soak up some history with visits to the impressive castles nearby including mediaeval Harlech Castle (9.5 miles).

Admire delightful sea views from many of the front windows at this traditional cottage. Relax in the living room where a wood burner in a large, inglenook fireplace is the central feature for your family to gather around. Get the flames going for cosy nights in. The white ceilings and walls have contrasting dark wood beams which add to the classic feel, as do the two dark leather sofas and matching bucket chair. Take advantage of the TV, books and games on family nights in, plus local information to help you plan your days out. There’s yet another cosy chill-out room on the ground floor: the small snug where you can relax on the comfy chairs with the TV or radio playing. There’s a window-side desk for work or hobbies while the ceiling beams, rug-covered tiled floors and ornamental fireplace create a homely atmosphere. Prepare family or group dinners in the rustic kitchen, then enjoy them in the dining room with classic dark wood furnishings, ceiling beams and lovely garden views. When night falls, retire upstairs to the triple room with its double bed and additional single bed; or to the two twin rooms, one of which has sea views. The bathroom features bright, pretty tiles and a shower over a bath which is great for soaking after outdoor adventures.

This family home is complete with a spectacular, south-facing garden that overlooks the sea. With plenty of enclosed lawn space, beautiful bushes and plants, furniture and a BBQ set, it’s the cherry on top of this timeless holiday cottage.

Fantastic holiday staying in Taicroesion. We walked easily into Barmouth most days, along the beach. The homemade Bara Brith was actually to die for. We tried others during our trip but nothing compared to the homemade one left for us in the cottage. The cottage and gardens were amazing. The house was exceptionally clean. All the rooms were a good size too. The beach across the road was great for dog walks and also went swimming. Lovely sandy beach when tide is out. Lovely to meet Gareth, the owner. Such a lovely man. Highly recommend this property. Hide
